「Room was fairly new and clean. A little too hot during the night but the window did open slightly. Just to note the room is part the church which we didn’t realise until we got there. Right next door the bells were ringing every 15 minutes on the evening, then started again at 8am and lasted longer in the morning to call for service (it was Sunday). I enjoyed them but just to note in case you were wanting a lie-in. There is no option for breakfast although the listing did state it would be...

「The accommodation was clean and spacious. The decor is quite dark, but probably because of the dark beams. The welcome in the pub wasn’t great, we weren’t acknowledged whilst standing with our bags in the pub. I understand the stafff are busy, but a simple’hello, we’ll be with you in a minute’ would be nice. We didn’t see any members of staff as the breakfast is a completely self service buffet. 「A very pleasant surprise as a solo guest. Needed an overnight stay for an event in Abergavenny, went with no expectations, just needed a comfortable, clean place and that's what I got. Yes the place needs a bit of tidying up, decorating, updating of furniture but that doesn't bother me as long as everything works for it's purpose which it did. 「A friendly welcome by the staff and very attentive throughout our stay. Room 8 was excellent with plenty of space and a large bath with separate shower. Food selection was great and expertly prepared. Plenty of choices for breakfast. Good selection of drinks at the bar. Several walks from the hotel and the river Wye is only a 15 minute walk away.」

「The receptionist was kind enough to let us park our car while we went up to Sugarloaf early in the morning. All the staff are very friendly. We had our dinner at their restaurant. 「Bar with good selection of drinks, menu was extensive. I had 12oz Steak 👍 Room clean and tidy with tea and coffee making facilities. I had a full English breakfast the following morning well cooked and presented. With tea or coffee and orange juice 」

「Breakfast was fabulous and the bedroom was very clean. Bar had Aircon which was blissful with a temp of 32 degrees !! Staff went out of their way to help with the heat - fan in the room and a spare sheet so you didn’t have to use the quilt …. Much appreciated」

「The room was good in size and decor , garden room suite. We were on the ground floor the room above us you could hear everything even the person snoring , the floor must have been floorboards and we could hear everything, This woke us up and continued throughout the morning!」

「Food was good, I had one of my favourite meals ham, eggs and chips 😋. Cooked Breakfast, toast, orange juice and cereal available. Room was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, I was overlooking the main road but it got really quiet around 11,pm and I slept like a log. Would recommend, good for the price.」

「ウエルカムドリンクとして、紅茶を頂きました。その際も、紅茶の好みを聞いていただき、翌朝の朝食の際も好みを覚えてていただき、とても親近感がわきました。又、お嬢様が依然日本で英語の教師をしていて、オーナーご夫婦も訪日した経験からとても親日的で温かいもてなしを受けました。お庭や前庭のお花もとてもきれいにお手入れされていて癒されました。シャワーの温度水量も十分で快適に過ごせました。」
