This is the second time that I have stayed in the Carolina hotel. I brought my husband and sister-in-law to see it because I knew my description could not do justice to it as much as actually experiencing being at the Carolina hotel It's absolutely beautiful.

Even though on the water, it is a nice part and it is the very soft muddy smelly soil. Also not value for money at all. Breakfast is stingy. You get either a coffee or a juice (and terrible at that). We stayed in a more expensive hotel 2 nights prior (£50 more a night but beautiful and impeccable service) and by the time you spend extra on breakfast it is the same price! I only didn’t cancel Carolina due to the waterfront! What a mistake! Not worth staying there. Spend your money on a better hotel. You will be going to ‘beach clubs’, restaurants on the water front anyway so….. the only saving grace was the lovely young lady who checked us in and that the rooms were clean.

It has a really nice lake front hotel, small that the amenities felt private. The only thing was the shower heads needed to be updated water was coming out in different directions but overall loved the place and would definitely would go back.

Fuimos mi esposo y yo en diciembre, nos quedamos dos noches, el hotel es bonito, los cuartos son comodos y muy agradables, la laguna esta justo en frente del hotel así que puedes bajar a nadar cuando desees. El desayuno es continental, muy rico el pan que sirven. El pueblo esta como a 20 minutos caminando. Muy recomendado.

Excelente place to stay in Bacalar. Clean and the staff very attentive. It was during low season. So not a lot of guesses in the hotel. The pool was under renovation but we reían upgrade to American breakfast instead of continental. Food at the hotel was delicious

Amazing hotel everything was super . I have only some requests to raise the hotel at the heaven . I wish i had one small fridge and a room with a King bed and a couch bed for kid. Double size bed are too small for me and i can’t sleep with my wife in there. Thanks

I dont recommend this hotel
My husband and I came to have small weekend trip here, the first thing we didnt like is that when we got to our room we didnt have any towels, so since they dont have phones we had to go to reception for them, we asked for a second face towel and they wouldnt give us another one, they said is because of hotel's policies, then the fridge was disconnected and the coffee machine in the room didnt work. The room was ok but the tv signal was horrible. The laguna part the have is not a nice color, you can find a better part of the laguna for this same price or cheaper, we got 2 kayaks for free and the color came out so damaged my swimsuit and now it has a blue mark I cannot remove. The breakfast next day is literally llittle bit of fruit not the best, a regular coffee or juice and 2 pieces of bread, I think for the price the could do better. They have a menu so we order some pancakes and of course they werent good at all. We got a tour in a boat that was amazing but this company is separated, we were little bit late and the tour guy waited for us, the receptionist said they couldnt wait for us without even asking first, and yes they tour guy waited without any problem. Finally, when we were leaving we realized that in the parking in front of the hotel someone hit our rental car, we know that it didnt have this because we have a video and that was the first day, so it had to be there and they said they will check their cameras, now it has been a week and nothing.

The hotel it’s stuffed by young people that does not understand the concept of “customer service.” Whenever I asked for anything the answer was “I don’t know what to tell you” or “go ask at the reception.” They were really good at gathering at one of the picnic tables and chat and spend time on their phones.

Beautiful lakefront hotel, the rooms are clean and very nice although the beds are not queen size as described but full size. The shower is wonderful! Continental breakfast is very poor, they could do better. Personnel has a very friendly and helpful attitude. Overall a very pleasant stay in Beautiful Bacalar.

This is a pretty hotel with a nice pool. It also has access to the largo. Unfortunately the rooms are packed into the space. No view and little privacy. The staff was very disappointing. Immediately they tried to sell us on excursions. They had no pool towels and refused to find any for us. It was suggested that we take the ones from our room but they didn’t know when they would be replaced. Eventually we went to the front desk and asked them for towels. I would not stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful and has nice lake access. Unfortunately, the lake was brown when we went. We found places further south where the water was still blue, but we had to investigate on our own. The staff didn't seem to know about these options. The restaurant food and drinks were tasty, and the room ac worked very well.
