"This hotel has a great location across from Windsor Castle and around the corner from the main shopping street, with two train stations an easy walk. It’s undergone a recent remodel and looks great, but there are some major problems: first, the rooms need more light. It’s impossible to read at bed or do computer work with the low intensity lamps. On check-in, the toilet and refrigerator weren’t walking, but that was quickly fixed. The Nespresso coffee machine only takes small cups not mugs provided and easily can spill. The halls are pitch black until movement is sensed, so it’s easy to fumble and drop something like a key card. The lifts however were great. With so many dining and drinking choices nearby, they are missing an opportunity by not offering guests perhaps a free prosecco at the house bar, or a discount on dining or a late evening happy hour. The concierge staff were great, but this no-cash hotel makes it harder to offer staff cash tips for added services such as luggage transfer. We wish them well as they sort out these tweaks that will be appreciated by guests."

"Extremely good experience at Horwood House. Everything from the greeting at reception to housekeeping was faultless. Stayed in a deluxe king room which was as expected but above all, very clean and well maintained. Would stay again if in the area. They had the most attentive and polite staff I've ever encountered in a hotel. "

"Stay was okay but needs improvement. The room felt dated and could use a deep clean—carpet and paint especially. No fridge or ice machine (maybe typical for the UK), and only one bedside outlet. We had just one towel for two people and no flannels available. Bed wasn’t very comfortable. Staff weren’t very warm. Wayfinding was confusing—clear signage off elevators is needed. Soaps also smelled unpleasant. I wouldn’t stay again."
