Lie in the hammock, listen to the surf, and relax in this house's serenity. A true vacation home, Gray Haven combines the ease of beach living with a touch of elegance and luxury. The homeowners have brought the beach indoors with a beautiful palette of resort colors reflected in every room. Gray Haven's décor, artwork, and a life ring from the SS Gray Haven will save any vacation day! This oceanfront home's wide-open, well-equipped kitchen and breakfast bar can accommodate meals for the formal dining table or the oceanfront screened porch picnic table.

This house offers two paved carports, an all-weather entryway, a hot tub, a screened porch for outdoor dining, three decks, an outdoor shower and changing room, a grill, and a fish cleaning station. The spacious living area boasts tall cathedral ceilings, ample seating, books, DVDs, CDs, and games to pass the evening hours.

From the secret fourth-floor Crow's Nest, see the sparkling water of the island's most beautiful beaches and enjoy a panoramic view of Hatteras Island, the perfect place to end the day. Listen to the surf, enjoy a refreshing drink, and watch the sunset.

Come laugh, love, and play in this beautiful home tucked away behind the rolling dunes in Avon!

THINGS TO KNOW
Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details about this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during check-in. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

Wonderful place, stunning views.. but I was walked in on by a realtor while trying to read a book in the bathtub, she just walked into the house.. Very uneasy feeling but overall the stay was good.

We had a nice stay in this house. It had an old, musty smell when we first went in. I sprayed the house with Lysol which helped. We didn’t have any hot water the first evening. I called the VRBO number and explained the situation. He was very helpful and within a few minutes someone else called back. The water heater had to be replaced and was done so the next day. We came for a fishing trip so overall it was a nice stay.

Great Place on Ocean

Great house on the Outer Banks. We had a nice family trip. Was not very crowded which was both good and bad. I am sure in summer the place is jumping with people. Glad we had a few good restaurants open. I would go back and rent this house again with other family members.

Never rent a VRBO that is hosted by Vacasa

Absolutely abysmal customer service from Vacasa. Winter storm Enzo shut the entire Outer Banks down and we couldn’t access the property. Vacasa’s response was it wasn’t their problem and they would not offer any refunds or future credits. A simple Google search uncovered untold horror stories similar to mine. I will never rent another property if they are the host.

Weekend Get-Away

We were just here for a little weekend get-away before Christmas. The house is as advertised. It feels like staying at your friends well-loved beach house. The view is beautiful, you are close to everything and there is plenty of room for kids (and the dog) to relax. While it has almost everything, there wasn’t a microwave, which was a bit of a surprise. The sandspurs are abundant, so shows outdoors are a must. We would definitely stay here again.

A gem

Within a minute of being here we realized this home was loved and had been lived in. It immediately felt like home. Furniture comfy, although one bed was a bit soft. Beautiful art and touches. We tried to love it as much as the owners did. Rough walking over dunes for the pups, they picked up some prickly briars so we drove onto beach rest of week. Location was great! Avon is always a good location on Hatteras Island. We hope to stay here next year as well. The management company was fantastic!
