Grandview Lake Placid

"The staff was exceptional - very helpful and cheerful at every request. The views from the lakeview rooms were lovely - at all times throughout the day. Food was good, but not as good as some other places in town. Price of rooms in August was about average. Two complaints: 1. The place is somewhat rundown - room refrigerators don't fit in the large oversized cabinets very well, so one door was always ajar. Wood items in the rooms were haggard, and the overall appearance of much of the hotel is that is was "past its prime". With some investment, this place could be a 5-star hotel/resort - just needs a refresh. 2. The EV charging stations - difficult to use - not user friendly - and in the end we couldn't use them at all. While attempting to connect, got chewed up around our ankles by mosquitos / no see-ums...... All in all, would stay there again - but feel bad about the run-down feel of the place once you leave the public rooms."

"Ted’s cottage was the perfect home base for our family vacation. He was extremely accommodating and left the property in pristine condition when we arrived. The home is very comfortable with a lovely porch overlooking whiteface mountain and only a short drive to Lake Placid. I would recommend this property for small families and small groups and would absolutely stay again. Thank you again for a wonderful stay, Ted!"

"Kim was great- very communicative but also unobtrusive. The property was spacious and perfect for our active family. Definitely recommend for those traveling with young children. We usually spend the first hour child proofing when traveling with the kids- totally unnecessary here. The surrounding woods were beautiful and exactly what we were looking for in an ADK adventure."

"The house was amazing. The Great Room was great with a wonderful fireplace that created such as warm and cozy space. The rooms were spacious and cozy. The kitchen was great, plenty of counter space and all to the kitchen gadgets and tools you'll need. Colleen and Mark were fabulous hosts and communicated with us. We had to make a change to our plans and move the reservation by one week; they accommodated us and helped make everything perfect."

"My husband and I recently spent a weekend at the Lake Placid Stagecoach Inn, and it was nothing short of magical! Before arriving, the owner Kelly, sent us a "Perfect Placid" list of the areas attractions with things to do and restaurant recommendations. So cool! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed - Kelly and her staff greeted us warmly and offered a quick tour pointing out the cozy common areas and sharing a bit of the Inn's history. The vintage accents and handcrafted furniture made us feel like we had stepped back in time. Our room (Kate Smith) was sooo comfortable, mixing rustic charm and beautiful modern amenities! Our dining experience was spectacular with seasonal offerings that support local farms and vendors. Absolutely delicious and everyone made us feel like family! The location is just minutes from everything, yet it feels like a secluded retreat. We sat on the porch and played cribbage with our wine and handcrafted cocktails. So fun and relaxing! We also visited the village shops, Mirror Lake, and biked the beautiful Adirondack Trail. Our whole trip was simply amazing... and too short! Bottom line, The Stagecoach has historic charm, 5-star dining, and a location that perfectly balances convenience with tranquility. It will warm your soul. We definitely plan to stay again!! Thank you so much for everything Kelly! And a shout out to Heather for the wonderful chats! You're a doll! :)"

"We had a great time at the chalet. The outdoor fire pit, large deck, screened porch and propane grill really added to our experience. The chalet had everything we needed and the kitchen is is well stocked with pot, pans, dishes, extra trash bags, paper towels, etc. We would rent here again. Note to future renters, bring your own shampoo/conditioner/soap."
