Set just across from Onetangi Beach, Apartment 6 is a bright, easy one-bedroom home with sea views, natural light, and a relaxed open-plan layout. With the beach just steps away and restaurants and vineyards close by, it’s a simple, comfortable base for couples wanting effortless island living.
The Space:
Apartment 6 is arranged for calm, uncomplicated holiday living. The open-plan lounge, dining, and kitchen area sits at the front of the apartment and looks across to the water. Wide windows bring in natural light and allow the sound of the waves to drift through when open, keeping the space connected to the beach without feeling exposed.
The living area is comfortably furnished and leads directly to the dining zone, making the apartment easy to use whether you’re relaxing after the beach or sitting down for meals at home. The kitchen is fully equipped with full-size appliances, good bench space, and everything needed for simple cooking.
The bedroom is positioned privately away from the living area and includes a king bed. The bathroom is clean and functional, with a tiled shower and vanity. Shared gas BBQs are available in the landscaped common area at The Sands.

Guest Access:
Guests have full use of the apartment and access to the shared BBQ facilities at The Sands. Parking is available onsite. Early check-ins and late check-outs may be possible on request, depending on bookings before and after your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Apartment 6 sits in a prime position just steps from Onetangi Beach, with an easy walk to local cafés and casual beachfront dining.
Nearby breakfast and coffee options include Charlie Farley’s and the Beach Store Waiheke, ideal for relaxed mornings by the water. For lunch, guests can choose Three Seven Two or head to The Heke, which offers a modern grill, smoked dishes, and a lively brewery setting. Dinner options include Ki Māha for refined beachfront dining or Casita Miro, serving Spanish-inspired shared plates overlooking the vineyards.
Nearby wineries include Tantalus Estate and Obsidian Vineyard, both close by and perfect for tastings and relaxed vineyard lunches.
Getting Around:
The nearest bus stop is on Fourth Avenue / The Strand.
Buses run from Onetangi, stopping close to all major wineries, including The Heke, then continuing into Oneroa and on to the Matiatia passenger ferry.
Taxis, hire cars, scooters, and e-bikes are available across the island. Parking is provided at the property.
Other Things to Note:
The Sands operates on rainwater tanks, so guests must be mindful of water use, particularly in summer.
Smoking Policy — The Sands:
There is no smoking inside the apartment or on the balconies. External smoke detectors are fitted, and any triggered alarm that results in a Fire Brigade call-out will incur a $5,000 fee charged to the guest. Smoking is permitted only in the designated picnic area.
