Summary:
Awaawa Yurts is a peaceful hideaway nestled in the hills above Palm Beach, Waiheke Island. Set among native bush with glimpses of the sea, our handcrafted yurts offer a quiet space to slow down and soak in the rhythm of the island.
Each yurt is fully insulated and thoughtfully furnished, blending the simplicity of off-grid living with a few gentle touches of comfort. On warm days, roll up the canvas walls to let in the breeze and birdsong.
The Space:
On cooler nights, flick on the heater and stay cosy under soft linen and a pillow-top mattress. The central skylight gives a view to the stars and lets natural light pour in with the morning sun.
Each yurt includes a Nespresso machine, tea-making essentials, and a mini fridge—just enough for slow mornings with a warm drink in hand before heading out to explore. Waiheke’s vineyards, beachside dining, coastal tracks and some of the island’s best beaches are just a few minutes away.
Each yurt has its own private bathroom—just next door—with a hot shower, toilet, and basin. You’ll also find a quiet spot to sit outside and enjoy the view, whether with a glass of wine or a good book.
We have three yurts available:
Papatūānuku – 5 metres across, our most intimate option, perfect for solo stays or couples who like things snug.
Rangi – 6 metres wide, with sweeping views from the highest point on the site.
Tāne – 7 metres in diameter, spacious and open, ideal if you love a bit more room to spread out.
Each one is a little different, but all are clean, private, and designed with care—offering a simple, soulful base for your time on Waiheke.
