Our gracious New Orleans society proprietor, Keith Marshall, pictured here, went to Oxford with Bill Clinton, and talks about the dog wedding he recently attended at a fellow historic plantation owner's house. He has a column in the TImes-Picayune, and knows how to tell a slow meandering story, like the Mississippi. He's turned his manor into a elegantly rustic and warm B&B. We dined al fresco and ate a roast suckling pig, splayed out in the back gardens all afternoon, while a New Orleans Zydeco band played.
Cajun bayou "gas" station with crawfish, turtle soup, cold beer, and a great sound system. Proprietors Leroy and Wand tell me the hotter it gets the more beer they sell. "I gotta goood bidness, cher". Worthy of a special trip.
