Very convenient to Arusha Technical College and Arusha Lutheran Medical Center. Newer hotel in good condition with great breakfast and nice balcony views, with HDTV and movie channel. Great service and staff.
The hotel did not have an elevator and we were on the 4th floor.
We were shocked to find 100's of flying insects over the bed when we entered the room.
The room was advertised having AC however there wasn't an AC unit in the room. The hotel found an industrial size portable AC unit. Unfortunately it was very noisy which made it difficult to sleep.
the room didn't have towels and hand soap when we arrived.

Basic needs covered
Hotel is ok covers basic needs, showers need looking at, otherwise it’s the best in the area!
This is a nice relatively inexpensive hotel in which to stay in Arusha. The road to the hotel is relatively rough but inside is very good. For someone on a tight budget this is a very nice alternative to the 4-star-priced hotels in Arusha.
Very quiet place. Front desk staff is excellent. Very secured. Road to the hotel is little rough. Has a bar. Breakfast is included and is served from 6:30 am. Lunch and dinner are also served at a very nominal rates. Big shopping market is within walkable distance. Bus stand to Nairobi is less than 10 minutes.
The hotel is actually quite nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. I dinged them a little because they arranged a taxi for us to the airport and he was either drunk, extremely tired or on drugs. We did not feel safe for the entire 90 minute drive. They also advertised air conditioning but what they actually have is a dehumidifier which doesn’t do the trick.
Other than that, the hot water heater for the shower is quite quirky but sort of works. They had cold beer and the free breakfast was ok. Again, the service was actually pretty good. Their English was pretty good as well.
Location isn't the best for mzungu. It seemed like maybe there was a part of town that most mzungu stay and this was definitely far from it. We didn't feel very safe walking around after dark. Most of the restaurants and things that rate highly on Google are far away.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. While it is not fancy, it delivers on its promise of a clean and comfortable hotel. A continental breakfast was advertised, but it included more - hot meal items as well as fresh fruit. The service was excellent both at reception and in the dining room. I also had a spectacular view of Mount Meru from my balcony.
This is a good new and relatively inexpensive hotel in downtown Arusha; the staff go out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The hotel surroundings are not very appealing but inside the hotel is very good with newer facilities. The staff do not seem to be well trained in keeping information about their guests confidential.

Thank you for sharing your experience towards your stay with us, we are appreciate for your compliments.
Welcome again to Africana Grand Hotel
First issue was that it was not located where the street address was. Normally not a problem in places like Tanzania where streets don't have name signs but it directed me to a different part of town at least a mile away.
I had a last minute reservation so check in was a little slow but because I did it last minute through a website it was expected.
The advertised air conditioning was actually a swamp cooler. It did make the temp comfortable but they are very loud (loud enough you cannot hear the tv) and everything feels damp.
Staff were very nice and breakfast was good.

Newer hotel with good facilities. The driveway to the hotel is a bit rough and unfinished but inside is very good with newer facilities including, flat screen TVs offering many international channels, that function properly. Highly professional staff with good English communication skills. Very comfortable beds. Highly recommended for those on tight budgets who would like a clean and comfortable place to stay.

Licht geht nicht im Gang, kein Aufzug, Frühstück recht einfach
Nice hotel, we stayed one night before we left for safari. Good, clean rooms, bed was comfortable and the room was spacious.
Fine breakfast. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Would recommend, good value for money.
