About this property
GO BLUE when you visit UMICH at The Blue Arbor
Step into history at The Blue Arbor, a beautifully preserved 19th-century colonial home tucked into Ann Arbor's beloved Kerrytown neighborhood. As one of the oldest homes in the city, this historic gem actually predates Ann Arbor's official records — and has been quietly collecting stories ever since.
Throughout its long life, The Blue Arbor has worn many hats. It has served as a single-family home, a duplex, and even a music school where countless students once practiced scales and sonatas within its walls. Today, it's been lovingly restored to its original purpose: a cherished single-family residence — and a one-of-a-kind home away from home for travelers seeking something with real character.
What makes The Blue Arbor so special isn't just its age — it's the personality. Steep staircases, gently crooked floors, and original architectural details give the home a charm you simply can't find in a modern build or cookie-cutter rental. Every creak and corner tells a story. Yet inside, you'll find all the comforts you expect from a luxury vacation rental: four thoughtfully designed bedrooms with premium queen mattresses and fresh linens, a fully stocked kitchen, a curated coffee and tea bar, high-speed Wi-Fi, and elegantly appointed living spaces designed for relaxation.
Outside, a spacious tailgate area with a Blackstone grill makes the home a favorite for University of Michigan game-day weekends, family reunions, girls' getaways, and milestone celebrations. And the location couldn't be better — you're a short stroll from Zingerman's Deli, the boutiques and restaurants of Kerrytown, downtown Ann Arbor, and just a leisurely two-mile walk to the Big House.
The Blue Arbor isn't just a place to sleep. It's a chance to live, even briefly, inside a piece of Ann Arbor history — with all the modern luxuries that make a stay truly unforgettable. We hope you'll fall for her quirks the way we have.

Cozy with plenty of rooms and space to visit. Fantastic outdoor area and very well stocked kitchens. And thoughtful touches throughout. Great communication and flexibility that we really appreciated. Walkable to runs, walks, food....Very happy to have found it for our 3 couples to gather.
Very nicely appointed, with all the bells and whistles. What a great coffee bar. Glad to have the space heaters! Location was ideal for main street shopping and eating
The house and beds were very comfortable and cozy. Best supplied home we have ever stayed at. Coffee station was tremendous - everything we needed for coffee/tea. Perfect location to walk to restaurants/bars downtown. Outside needs a little TLC.
Awesome location. Clean and comfortable. Great coffee options every morning. The host was excellent in responding to emails about questions we had for dining options within walking distance. Worked well for a guys golf trip to Ann Arbor. I would probably use the same location in the future if we repeat the trip.
Location was within walking distance to downtown Ann Arbor which was great! The Big House took over a half hour walking. L/R seated four comfortably. The provided coffee was great. The yard needed to be raked of fallen limbs.Linens and towels were nice. TV was great with NETFLIX. Steps going upstairs are very narrow and awkward. We would stay there again.
I really appreciate how the staff managing our property went out of their way to make my family's stay a comfortable one. For instance, the property has a printer but the ink had dried up. Within 24 hours of notifying the staff of this situation, new ink was dropped off at the property. Another example was when my family left, several of our items were left behind. The staff made it really easy for my mother to pick up the items.
Location was perfect. Large driveway is good for easy in and out. Clean and well equipped house with nice coffee bar and kitchen. Pots, pans, sharp knives and kitchen utensils are high grade for any cooking needs. It was very a pleasant stay.
This house was clean, there was a smooth check in process and the beds were comfortable. Though we found all the bedrooms to be so minuscule that you could barely fit in a suitcase leaving very little room to walk around the bed or close the door. There are no closets in this house only a few hooks and hangers. So if you have more than a backpack full of clothing this is not for you. Also, there was little evidence in the listing to suggest that this house is at a busy noisy intersection. So noisy that the hosts provided earplugs on each night table. The fire pit, which looks private in the listing photos is sitting in the middle of the driveway surrounded by zero fences or hedges so you are basically sitting right on a heavily trafficked street. And One ply toilet paper. So thin you could see right through It. Luckily for us it was a two night stay with limited time soent at the house
