Just returned from 11 nights at this hotel and had an absolutely fantastic time. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast buffet is great with tons of options, our room was clean and had an amazing view. Yes there is a bit of rust here and there on the balcony but what would you expect from an ocean front hotel exposed to the elements constantly. The location is also perfect as you can easily walk to the downtown area of Angra. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again on our next trip to Terceira.

5 star... It is not. It's an airport days Inn at best. And I'd take the days inn. Entering the lobby at first you see nice lounge seating, it seems a tad out of date, and that trend continues. We'll fast forward past the unenthusiastic staff at the front desk ( there were exceptions ) when we called to ask where the ice machine was, they showed up with a plastic bag of ice... The young female working was clearly embarrassed for having to work with minimal support, which seems to be the theme here. Half the buttons on the elevator do not work, the hallways feel like the overlook ( The Shinning) hotel in the 70s and the smell is stagnant at best. Plastic cups that are damaged and stained in the rooms, and do not get replaced, just left there if you're there for multiple days. I question the actual cleanliness. Painted over water stains on the walls and ceilings, peeling wall paper, and zero amenities in the room. No outdoor pool. Only indoor. The bar did not know how to make a mojito. I know this sounds pretentious, but when you are expecting a 5 star, and get Biffs Inn... It's very disappointing. In all honesty. 2.5 star rating overall. Truly truly disappointing.

The Angra Marina Hotel has an amazing view of the harbour, and easy access off of one of the main roads and is a short walk down to the harbour and nearby shops and restaurants. Although be aware that the only entrance to the hotel is at the top of a steep hill and there is no access to/from town from the lower levels. However, the hotel itself is dated and poorly maintained - the elevators say they're going down but go up, the roof paint was peeling in the pool area, the bathrooms in the room smelled and the beds are past needing to be replaced. Additionally, several of the lights in our room (the junior suite) were controlled by a remote control, and there were no switches - so if you needed to use the bathroom in the night you needed to find the remote and remember which buttons did which lights. Lastly, we were expecting parking to be available at the hotel, however the hotel parkade looked abandoned and the exit was blocked off and chained close. When we asked about the parking, the staff told us the parkade was terrible, and it would be much better to use the street parking - which is primarily on the steep hill, or at the bottom of the hill.

Angra Marina Hotel (Azores, Terceira) I stayed at this hotel in April 2025. Perfect location, close to everything. Nice ocean views from my room (a big balcony): a fortress, a port, mountains. Staffs were very helpful and accommodating. My room was clean and good value for the money. They offer a good breakfast!

Property itself was good. Breakfast was very good. My only complaint is the parking situation and the underground parking is terrible ( my opinion), very steep and narrow. Very dark, there were absolutely no lights underground. I’m a female who travelled solo, so this is very important to me. Otherwise it’s a great location.

O melhor aspecto foi a amplitude e disposição do quarto, com varanda e vista para a Marina de Angra. Alojamo-nos apenas 1 noite, pelo que não foi possível utilizar outros serviços além do peq. almoço, que era diversificado e servido em espaço amplo (restaurante). Aconselhamos e voltaríamos numa próxima visita a Angra.

Cet hôtel ne mérite pas ses 5 étoiles. Chambre malpropre, moisissure sur les rideaux de douches et bains, drains bloqués, chambre vide, insectes dans la chambre. La suite ne correspondait absolument pas aux photos. Nous avons trouvé des cheveux dans les draps.

La chambre était très spacieuse, confortable et bien équipée. Cependant, elle était situé juste dessous le restaurant donc, beaucoup de bruit de chaises et de tables. Nous avons demandé à changer mais il n’y avait aucune disponibilité. De plus, un soir, nous avons mangé au restaurant où nous avons commandé un plat de tagliatelles au saumon et nous avons eu une salade avec 4 morceaux de saumon. Le second plat était du thon avec une sauce. On nous a servi un poisson qui n’était pas du thon et sans sauce. Et quand nous l’avons fait remarquer au serveur, celui-ci nous a répondu que tout était normal. Je dirais donc que la partie restauration était très décevante et très chère proportionnellement à ce qui nous a été servi
