clean house, perfect for 5-6 people, in the country but not isolated and close to so much!

This house was very clean and beautiful! Also, the host was very easy to communicate with, which made our stay even better. Not to mention… this house is located nearby so many good options for food and drinks! I would definitely book again! Highly recommend!

The images of this house are what sold us on the rental originally. I'm happy to say that the pictures are accurate and the house is amazing. Spacious, comfortable and welcoming the Afton residence was a great vacation near many hiking trails and adventures. 30 minutes from Monticello (wonderful tour) and more. The fireflies in the yard the 1st night there were just magical.

We had a great and relaxing weekend in Afton. The house was close to most of the wineries we wanted to visit and was located in a quiet area. The only improvement needed would be the cleanliness. We had to clean the fridge before we could use it as it appeared to not have been cleaned in a long time. There were a few other cleanliness issues. Perfect little stay if the house had been cleaner.

6 adults stayed here for 3 nights. Comfortable, private, quiet and great location for hitting wineries around Charlottesville. Patio was nice to sit and relax as was the front porch. Clean and everything worked well. Would stay here again. Reasonable price for the location and comfort.

This was a great place, super close to lots of local wineries and plenty of bedrooms and space for our group. Stephanie was fantastic- super responsive and helped us right away with an issue that we had with hot water during our stay and got it fixed almost immediately. Would definitely recommend for a fun weekend/wine country getaway! Thank you!

A simple farmhouse w/ views of the mountains, plenty of space to spread out and filled w/ all you need to build a fire or cook dinner, but also located very close to all the good breweries, wineries & distilleries. Stephanie was helpful answering questions in advance of our stay. Already looking forward to the return!

Stayed a week here first week in November. The house is beautifully restored and on a great lot. Plenty of activities for my boys (5 and 9) to do inside and when they needed to run of energy plenty of space to run around. Bonus about location - it’s only a few minutes from Veritas (fav vineyard) and Blue Mountain Brewery. Pippin Hill isn’t far either as well and only a 1/2 hour from Charlottesville and another 1/2 hour from Wintergreen. Fireplace was amazing - beds great. Kitchen is well stocked with gadgets including a panini maker and slow cooker! Plenty of fluffy towels too. The only thing I would add is to Bring your own pillow though if you want firm pillows. But there’s so many pillows that I just doubled up so honestly not a problem. Will definitely be back!

We had a great week. The house was very comfortable and fit us (four adults, two kids) very well. We had a few problems (dishwasher, grill, wifi didn't work) but Stephanie responded very quickly and did whatever she could to fix the situation. The house is ten minutes from vineyards, cideries, breweries so is very convenient.

Not much attention to detail. Bath towels were great. Outside gathering area messy, table dirty. Coffee pot was dirty - still had old coffee in carafe when we arrived. Trash was to be picked up by owner's son - left it on porch as instructed. Came home after a day of activities and trash still on porch - bag torn because some animal had been in it. We won't be returning.

This was the perfect getaway spot to escape the city. We came here with our family in the midst of the pandemic. Stephanie was responsive and really thought of everything to make the house feel like home for every age. There were plenty of games and puzzles for all ages and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Our kids loved exploring the big yard, making smores in the fire pit and watching movies on the TV. The area has tons of hiking, orchards, and breweries - there was something to do every day. I highly recommend this property and we hope to return. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

We stayed at the cottage over the Christmas holiday. It was clean and well decorated with ample and comfortable bedding and linens. The central heating was not working properly during our stay. Fortunately, we had unseasonably warm weather and kept a fire going the entire time. Stephanie was quick to respond and brought extra space heaters for us, on Christmas Day no less.

This house was a perfect location (home base) for us as we celebrated a family wedding in Afton. The hosts considered everything renters would need to feel right at home. The setting is so picturesque and QUIET! Stephanie is extremely responsive and accommodating. Any question or request we had was answered within a day. We would absolutely rent this house again.

We had a nice stay on a beautiful weekend for wine tasting. We were so close to so many awesome wineries and breweries that it helped us optimize our time. The house was nice. There was a little smoky smell in the living room due to the wood fireplace but nothing we couldn’t handle. Kitchen was well stocked with spices and necessities.

My friends and I loved our stay at this home in Afton. The home is beautifully decorated, the beds are comfortable, the yard is perfect for lounging, and the kitchen is fit for a chef (we know, one of us is a chef and she cooked all gourmet meals with the stocked kitchen gadgets!). When we weren’t at the house, we were a very short drive to several wineries and hiking spots. I highly recommend!
