"A hotel inside an old castle looks cool but rooms are nothing but modern or comfortable. Very old bathrooms,tall tub difficult to get in or out.Only soap available, no shampoo/ conditioner. We pay a high tariff for a king bed and found 2 twin beds together with sheets to make it look like a king bed.Dusty furniture and curtains, the hotel needs a serious upgrade. No elevator to floor 2 only stairs.A kind front desk gentleman(spanish) helped us with the suitcases to the room.Check out was awkward, young lady barely look me in the eye, had to ask myself if everything was fine to leave cause she just kept working in her computer while i was standing there.A property not worth a bit of such a high tariff"

"Rooms and inn itself were great. Service at dinner was extremely slow to the point where we had to flag down a different staff member every time we needed something basic like getting water, ordering dessert, or even paying our bill. The restaurant also had the most uncomfortable restaurant chairs ever. Definitely not what we were hoping for after a long hard day of hiking up and down Conic Hill. It literally hurt more to sit than stand"

"Our room was on the ground floor and the hall way along to the room smells so strong of damp it almost smelt like fuel. The room was basic which is what you would expect for the price paid as this was just a base for us as we were attending a wedding in the Tarbet hotel which was fully booked…however I don’t think it had been cleaned there was bits of old food and rubbish on the floor I stood in what seemed to be peanut butter. The mattress protector was all stains and the sheet didn’t fully fit the bed, as it was so hot we were going to use the grey throw from the bottom of the bed instead of the quilt but this smelt like urine so was put on the floor. The hotel it’s self when you enter is bright and clean along with the bar area drinks were well priced and the pool table was free! Don’t know if the rooms on the higher floors are better. Arrochar it’s self was a lovely wee place with stunning views and food amenities for the size of it, would recommend Ben Arthur’s Bothy for food, drinks and entertainment! And the staff were amazing friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back to Arrochar but stay elsewhere."
