「It was fine but you need to be able to receive the check-in instructions by SMS. As we were coming from overseas, we couldn't receive SMS in Canada. Fortunately the management operator left an envelop for us at the reception. We found lots of hairs stuck on the walls of the shower. That left us with a negative impression in terms of cleanliness」

「Blackbear Guesthouse has lots of comfort and stylish character. I was a solo traveler without a car but was able to take advantage of a seasonal bus service along the Pacific Rim Highway between Tofino and Ucluelet to get into both towns. The hospitable owners were also happy to give me a lift to Tofino if our journeys coincided. I used Pacific Rim Navigators to get a return trip from Long Beach Airport to the Guesthouse, which is not too far from the airport.」

「We had a wonderful stay. The room had a beautiful view and we loved using the hot tub in the evening. It is a 15-20 minute walk to central Ucluelet which was nice as one night we went to Pluvio for the Chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing and didn’t want to drive. Brock answered any questions by email very quickly. It felt like we were all alone here. 」
