「This property charges premium prices but delivers very little beyond the view. The location overlooking Lake Atitlán is beautiful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The internet was essentially unusable during my stay. For a hotel at this price level, reliable internet should be basic. I had work to do and could not connect. Mobile data also barely works in this location, so the hotel’s Wi-Fi is the only option. What made the situation worse was the response from staff. No one...

「El Picnic was a truly special place to stay on Lake Atitlán. The hosts are wonderful and make the experience along with the beautiful setting. Gabi went above and beyond, from helping coordinate transportation before our arrival to suggesting and arranging unique local experiences during our stay. One of her recommendations, a bird-watching hike, ended up being a highlight of our trip (we even saw a quetzal!). Meals were excellent, with delicious breakfasts and dinners shared with other guests...

「Somethings were amazing, the staff, the clean rooms, the wonderful food, and beautiful grounds, and magical massages. Somethings were less than wonderful, but take the good with the bad. The hot water is more along the line of warmish water. My rooms door knob broke, but was fixed the next day. 」

You need to know that the surroundings of the hotel have change, is more developed so that means more noises... But nothing too loud to handle. The food service is terms of food, everything is so good! But it's slow, in my opinion it goes well with the idea that you go there to relax and enjoy the view... So just be aware that it might take a while. You have other hotels nearby...

「The house is dirty, smells humid, dust everywhere, no hot water after 1 minute of shower, no a/c, everything is old and outdated, sheets and towels were stained, it’s in the middle of nowhere in the jungle. We found a scorpion in the bedroom. The only good thing is who manages de property, that service is amazing and will help you get everything organized and scheduled, but the actual property is not at all how it seems in the photos. I definitely do not recommend staying here or would stay...
