"The hotel was beautiful with all the amenities you could need. This was our first time in a traditional Japanese style room and it was such a fun experience. The onsens were great and the reservation system easy to use. Dining was special and we loved the food. Getting to do a little laundry in their facilities was an added bonus. Staff was eager to help and made us feel welcome and comfortable the entire stay."

"This was our first stay at a rhyokan (spelling!)and we were blown away by the beauty, The comfort (personally I felt sleeping on tatami mats on a futon perfect). The attentive service was welcoming and spot on. We ate breakfast and dinner here and the local food was abundant, gorgeously presented and flavorful. We had a room with a private Onsen on a deck. Highly recommend. This was a unique, peak experience and I am a seasoned traveler. Do it. "

"This property does take some effort to get to. But the stay was pleasant. Buffet was delicious and onsen baths were amazing. The ryokan experience is very interesting and comfortable for us. Staff were very helpful. One thing to mention is it is not very tattoo-friendly. They politely ask you to cover tattoos in common areas, including restaurants."

The breakfast was nothing that we expected. It was awesome!! When staying here, you must eat breakfast here. Not an american style breakfast! "The owner was very nice and tried her hardest to speak English which she didn’t have to do but was very appreciated. The room was beautiful, very traditional and really gave us an authentic Japanese experience. The only issues were it was inaccessible for those with disabilities, there’s not really ramps in ikoma, at least the route we took, we also has to walk down stairs to get to our room, there wasn’t an elevator. The only other thing was that we had a basement 2 room, which wasn’t bad but...

The food was EXCELLENT. The outdoor onsen was my fave. I would stay here again despite the smokey room - just make sure you request a non-smoking room!"
