Apartments in Minamiashigara for Rent

"Stayed here with two school-age children. We chose to stay in a traditional room with kaiseki dining. Both kids are very good eaters but even for the adults some of the food was very new. However, everything was carefully prepared and presented beautifully. The staff were very friendly, and several staff members were fluent in English. Still, I would recommend brushing up on your Japanese or using Google Translate for clear communication. Tub times were easy to reserve, but free time tubs often required waiting 15 min to 1 hour. We made the mistake of checking back every 10-15 minutes to see if one particular tub was free. After waiting an hour another guest arrived and took the tub even though they had only been waiting 2 minutes. So, you must stay right there! The location of the hotel is not walkable as the roads are steep with limited space for pedestrians. However, there is a minivan that can drop you off and pick you up from the bus station or nearby train station with ease. So, it’s no problem. Overall, the property was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing, and the staff were all very kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you would like an authentic Japanese ryokan and onsen experience. "

"This is a beautiful resort and the onsens were amazing, quiet, relaxing, rooms were lovely. The kasieki meal was superb, breakfast had 100 choices. Only complaint os coffee at night had coffee grounds in it. i recommend a two night stay so you may visit both baths. The pajama wear and takata wear were so awesome to wear all over the resort and to dinner! What fun. No racial prejudice felt at this resort. Also a great location to catch the cable car to the ropeway which is a must do! Take the romance car back to tokyo very easy! Try to see Mt Fuji at the lake ferry just breath taking!,"

"The room was fabulous. Service staff are very friendly. There are a lot of activities to do in the hotel. Living close to nature. The only downside is that it is not near the train station, you have to call the hotel to get someone to fetch you (Limit 6pm). Additionally, there aren't a lot of shops around but everything can be found in the hotel itself."

"A beautiful properly. We had a room with an onsen on our deck, it was supposed to have a lakeview but trees are all grown in and blocking. This place feels remote but there is a bus stop station close and the pirate ship/ cable cars. No stores or restaurants close by but we really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffets."

"Great location, nice view of fuji-san, nice garden and trail at the back, nice breakfast with a lot of choice. The fact the rooms had some older furniture was fine since it was according to price. Easier control of hot water in the shower would be better."

"Great ryokan experience. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well stocked. The food was phenomenal. We stayed for two nights and they had a different menu each day. The service was exemplary. We brought our 4 month old baby boy and they went out of the way to accommodate us. They put us in a slightly more secluded room and dining section so we didn’t need to feel bad when he cried. They set up a little bed for him at dinner time. "
