The hotel offers good value for the price and its location is good as you can walk to Old Dubai, which is great. The rooms are spacious, though they could be better maintained (mainly bathroom). Breakfast had options, but the quality wasn’t the best and not really to my taste. Overall, it’s a decent stay, but fairly average.

Rooms require updating / refreshing.
Reintroduced smoking in the Golden Lion during our stay which spoilt the enjoyment of sitting in a smoke free envoironment.
Evening meal was usually lukewarm and not hot.

Lovely staff, decent bed. Room wasn’t great. Lots of construction work happening which doesn’t make for restful sleep. I had to phone housekeeping for basics such as robe, body wash, shampoo. The showerglass was full of limescale and lots of mold amd damp walls in bathroom. Bit disappointing.
But lovely staff.
