Kona Coast Beach Vacations

We arrived early and there was no option for early check in. The keyless entry was frustrating and very inconvenient. They provide a 9 digit code you must use to get on an elevator, open doors on the property and enter your room. That’s very inconvenient when traveling with kids and no one can remember the code. The water was also turned off to the property during our stay with no means of showering, cooking or using the restrooom. There was no communication regarding this shut off and again very inconvenient when traveling with small kids and no accommodations or alternatives. The staff was friendly. The location was clean but I would probably not stay here again.

Clean condo. Six of us had plenty of room. 3 adults, 3 teenagers. Excellent value for 3 bd 3 bath. Kitchen was equipped but not chef level but we prepared only simple breakfast food and ate out mostly. About 12-15 minutes walk to beach but beach parking is plentiful. I would recommend to families or couples.

Stunningly well designed and maintained. Super relaxing. Extraordinary helpful and kind staff. Ridiculously good food. For us it was truly worth the marginal extra cost. When we went, it wasn't *that* much more expensive than the other properties but is by far the nicest. Nice snorkeling right off their beach which is one of the only sand beaches around. A large family pool and a very nice adult pool. Excellent rooms. Just beautiful.

This is an exceptional property, large, expansive and beautifully integrated into the landscape. The staff is exceptional and will impress you from the moment of your arrival. The rooms are nicely decorated in an authentic, local character. We only dined at one restaurant, ULU, and it was excellent. This experience was first class all the way.

As advertised, the staff is exemplary! All you need to do is ask and a member of the staff will fulfill your request quickly. We had a problem with our TV and they replaced the entire TV in about 15 minutes. The staff has a sense of pride when it comes to making sure everything works at Mauna Kea and that all of your needs are met! Our room was meticulously cleaned daily and again, you can ask housekeeping for anything and they will respond to the request promptly. You won't find a better beach than the one at Mauna Kea Beach. It's an all sand beach as far as you can walk out into the ocean. I highly recommend the Mauna Kea Beach hotel and will return there in the future.

Great location and close to everything. We were able to eat and shop within a 5 min drive. Target 20 min drive. Our cottage was very spacious and fit our family of two adults and one kid. It was great to have space to spread out. We especially loved the lanai. We were in room 5A which looked out on the pool. It was a nice view but it could also be louder in the evening but not ridiculously loud which we appreciated. The only thing I disliked was check in where I was asking about restaurant recommendations and the woman at the desk kept trying to sell me on going to watch a time share video so I could save money. I said no repeatedly and said I just wanted to get into my room and get food after a very long flight but I had to say no over and over in order to get what I needed and leave. Other than that, great stay!
