Lake Windermere Area All inclusive Vacations

Amazing hotel!!! We have stayed at many hotels in the Banff and Canmore area. This one is exceptional! The rooms are great with excellent amenities. The Nordic spa was a great addition to the relax trip! Would stay again for sure.

The tiled kitchen/lounge floor was dirty The general decor was well used and past its best. The complete absence of staff meant the issues we had had to be dealt with phone and email and was unsuccessful and the issues were never resolved. We wasted to much of our valuable time waiting for someone to fix the door access The place was soulless

The staff was very helpful in showing us what sights to see in the area. It was nice being in town.

Perfect location and wonderful views

The Otter is a fairly new property but it's already looking hard lived in. The common areas need better cleaning especially vacuuming, corners are banged up, hallways aren't clean and the elevators are grubby (and really slow). It's modern but that doesn't mean it's luxurious. Saying this is a luxury hotel is not accurate. We paid $800+ for our room for one night. It was at the back with a view of the alley and trees. Not worth it! The rooms are cramped, there's no sound proofing (people in the hall may as well be in your room), no vanity in the bathroom just a shelf over the sink, no extra toiletries other than basic shampoo, conditioner and soap, no robes, no slippers, only one type of pillow that's really thick and firm (not comfortable), no ironing board, no coffee or tea in the room (you have to ask for it at the front desk). There's a gym and hot tubs but the change rooms are really inadequte. Although this hotel covers the basics, it's just that - basic without the luxuries you expect in a luxury hotel but they sure know how to charge..

Mountain View Small room Overpriced

We booked our room as a king room. When we got to the property, we were told they upgraded us. After wandering around (it's difficult to find rooms) we found our "upgraded" room. It was very outdated, extremely small and had a spiral staicase to get to our bed. We are in out 60's and were to say the least not thrilled with this. Went to the front desk to say this is unacceptable. After having to get a little upset about this as were were staying for 5 days and could not manuver this staircase in the middle of the night to use the washroom. I was told that there was not a king room available and "this was an Upgrade". Finally with the manager involved were able to get a double queen, which was beautiful and fully updated. Nothing like the outdated spiral staircase room. Not a great way to start a vacation after a over 24 hour drive. We only used the maid services 1 time during our stay and they only made our beds and folded out dirty towels, did not give us any toilet paper or facial tissues. Over all we enjoyed out stay and wouldn't let something like this deter us from staying again, just be aware of "upgrades" Front desk staff was very friendly and everyone working there was very pleasant. Our visit to Banff was a once in a lifetime trip!
