Nice hotel, great alternative if you’re attending something at the convention center across the street. The rooms were clean but the charging ports on the lamps didn’t work, one elevator was out during my stay and there was no option for room service. Overall good stay just not a lot of amenities to take advantage of.

The building itself is gorgeous. The cafe and the cafe staff as well as the doormen are very friendly and respectful. The check- in people: cold, detached, bordering on unprofessional. Did not feel Welcome. Even though I’ve been a repeat guest at Riggs l will not return. I like feeling welcomed and appreciated for being a supporter and an important part in the ecosystem. Hotel Riggs is not it. (Also, after the fact item: hotels.com let me know last night that as a VIP apparently I was supposed to be given the option of a free room upgrade, which never happened). Very disappointed. Will not go back.

Excellent front desk staff. Check in was a breeze. Friendly gentleman at the font desk. Location excellent - quick walk from the train station. Restaurant/pub that's attached is crowded and overbooked. I was told it would be 40 minutes before they could seat me and I'm just one person. I did notice some other folks were seated right away when they came in but they were couples not solo travelers so maybe they don't like solo people there? I don't know. I went to a french bistro instead at the Sonesta and it was excellent. For breakfast - same restaurant - no espresso or lattes. For that, you have to go to the cafe around the corner which I recommend for breakfast in general - literally called Corner Cafe. But the room was nice - no complaints there. Cleaning staff did just enter my room at 8AM sharp to clean so make sure you hang the sign on the door telling them not to come in. I kept yelling saying "don't come in, I'm not dressed" but they came in anyways. They need the visual sign. If I come again I might try the Sonesta, It's more expensive but the restaurant and staff when I was over there are excellent and there's an espresso machine on site. We'll see. I mean, I was fine here but...the restaurant didn't sit right with me so... :)
