Overall experience was good but not great. Property is clean and well maintained, but a solid hour from the airport. Room was clean and well maintained but could use a facelift. Staff was nice, but not the best I’ve experienced. Food in restaurants was good for an all inclusive, not the best ever, but definitely better than most I’ve been to. Pool was good, but beach was pretty small. Unfortunately, the seaweed was the worst Ive ever seen in my life, to the point where even their cleanup efforts couldn’t make a dent. You could smell it all the way from the front of the resort. It made the experience not very enjoyable because beach was unusable, couldn’t get in the water, which made the pool areas quite overcrowded. All in all, it was a great resort, very nice views, good for the price, but probably won’t return.

The ocean was beautiful from our terrace. The room was clean and service was doable.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The location of the hotel is unbeatable. The beach is absolutely beautiful, the water is crystal clear, and there is very little seaweed. The natural environment is definitely the highlight of the property. The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable. However, the hotel was built quite a long time ago, and there are many areas that could benefit from maintenance and renovation. While nothing affected the usability, the overall atmosphere and details did not fully reflect the level one would expect from a five-star hotel. The food options are quite extensive, with a good variety available. That said, the reservation system feels a bit outdated. After check-in, guests still need to go and make restaurant reservations in person, and there is no app available. Room service and many other hotel services also require calling by phone. If the hotel could upgrade its digital services, such as offering an app or an online booking system, it would make the experience much more convenient. The toiletries provided in the room are good quality. However, the daily replenishment was sometimes incomplete, with certain items occasionally missing.

The staff were amazing, particularly our butler, Maggie, El Adio, and the bartender Fernando! He was amazing and we even moved to one of the pools when he went from the inside bar to the pool swim up! Absolutely amazing, friendly and we definitely need to go back!

We have stayed at several all inclusive resorts in the Cancun area. We are a family with elementary aged kids that like activities. We were excited to visit Ava. We loved the room. It was kept very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food at every restaurant was good and the drinks were also very good. The staff was attentive and fairly quick, everywhere.We also liked the unique activities, like “minute to win it” at digit bar, water aerobics, the obstacle course in the main pool, and many others. We were disappointed that we had to pay extra for some of the activities, like bowling, the arcade and laser tag but we tried them and we really enjoyed them. The biggest disappointment was for our girls because the kids club was not what we were expecting. The schedule was not flexible and had the kids outside all morning. It seems fine, but did not allow a break from the sun for the kids. They were not permitted to choose activities like past resorts. You either did what was on the schedule or not. Their trampolines were broken during our entire 6 day stay. And there were no toys to play with, just the indoor playground. They did enjoy the art class each day. But that was for one hour and we had to wake up early to sign up for it. The hardest part for parents is the 2 hour “family hour” everyday. It is supposed to be a time for families to come in and play with their kids. But in reality, no one wants to sit and watch their kids play at a kids club. It was empty.
