Ko Siboya Ski Vacations

The room didn't have a microwave which I felt was odd and inconvenient. There was no way to reheat my leftovers. A microwave doesn't cost much and would go a long way as an added feature.

This resort has the structure and ambiance of a 4 star resort but is unfortunately run like a 3 star resort. We were pretty surprised that the staff at the hotel weren't very nice, especially compared to other Thailand hotels. Housekeeping never came (we stayed 4 nights) and we always had to call around 5pm to request they come to our room. They offer free shuttles to Ao Nang and Railay Beach but space is limited and every time we tried to sign up (several hours in advance) they told us it was fully booked already. The pool doesn't serve alcohol and every time we came we struggled to find a place to sit. It also took us about 10 minutes of walking to get from the room to the pool. You can ask for a ride from the lobby but it's often a 10-15 min wait. All in all, we were a bit disappointed with our stay.

We had a lovey stay at the hotel, it just needed updating. The breakfast was brilliant and the location was fantastic, perfect side to watch a sunrise and very short walk to watch it set on the West side. Rooms were the small problem, it just needs investment as all a little dated. Staff were incredibly helpful and lovely.

We loved our room and the view it had. Their bathrooms are the kind you wish you have in your dream home! Their staff is extremely friendly and kind. The Olympic pool was fantastic, although we didn’t spent as much time there since we were exploring the famous beaches in the area. The highlight from the breakfast is the fruit selection and that they make eggs to order in any style of your choosing. It’s a car ride to Ao Nang and there aren’t many things to do around the hotel. Note that hotel gives you beach access through a beach club across the street. They only provide bean bags and there are better beaches in the area but this beach was still good for a walk. Overall we loved Varana and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. It was a great find and a highlight of our trip.

Location was great - close to the beach and walking street, room was clean -well laid out and beds were comfortable with a nice sized balcony. We were in a quad room for 4 people and worried about how tight the space might be, but there was ample room to move around and enough space and seating for all 4 of us on the balcony. Two large beautiful pools to enjoy, the roof top infinity pool had a lovely view. Had lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was very very good, would recommend. There is a water refill station in the lobby with cold drinking water which was well used by our group. Complimentary breakfast buffet with our booking, but we didn't get up in time to sample. Overall a positive experience, would stay here again and recommend to friends and family.
