Bonaventure Island Pet-friendly Vacations

Very disappointing for a five-star hotel We chose Hôtel Le Bonne Entente despite being 20–25 minutes from Old Québec because of its five-star rating and the beautiful pool photos. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The mattresses in our two-queen room were so soft that you would literally sink into them, making it difficult even to turn over or get out of bed. I tried removing the top mattress layer, only to discover that the mattress underneath was extremely dirty. I ended up sleeping on the floor. At breakfast, the cups provided on our table were so stained and poorly washed that we initially thought they had been left behind by previous guests. We decided not to eat there and went elsewhere. The outdoor pool was also much smaller and the surrounding area far less clean and attractive than it appeared in the Expedia photos. Even the bathroom sink was poorly designed, with the faucet positioned so awkwardly that simply washing your hands caused water to splash everywhere. Most disappointing was management’s response. When we complained about the bed, the supervisor simply told us that mattress preferences vary and other guests like them. We asked to check out early and receive a refund for the remaining stay, but they refused. Mattress firmness may be a preference, but cleanliness is not. This was nowhere near the five-star experience we expected.

Everything was wonderful and in line with the Fairmont standards of extremely good amenities, property condition and impeccable service.

This is an honest opinion. We were in 901, this a suite with had a great view. The room was comfortable, clean, nice decor. We like everything but the service. The service didn't match the price we paid for the room. Staff need extra training. The check in is good but then it drops. We used room service, which they charge a lot for and it was horrible. If you book the suites, they are nice but when the service doesn't match the price...why would we book this hotel again? There are same price hotels with better service in Old Quebec City.

Wonderful property, in excellent shape, great location. Reserved parking space at Saint-Andres wharf is not guaranteed if you pre pay.
