The service was amazing! They were super flexible with checking in and out. The place was super clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place for those looking for something by the airport. Will be back for sure :)

Nice experience. Friendly staff but the rooms could use some maintenance!

5 star view of the ocean, 3.5 star room, 2 star service from the staff. Stayed for 4 nights, first day was ruined due to being given a sub standard room. After complaining to the supervisor, we were given a nicer room with a beautiful view of the pool/ocean - but the room felt more like 3.5 star - nothing special, No mini bar and room was outdated. Paid nearly $200/night, not worth the price. Breakfast was the same for all 4 days of our stay. Also, felt that people of color are treated differently and raised this with the supervisor. The arrogant male staff in particular at front desk, restaurant and pool area need to be trained properly. This was raised with the supervisor.. Note that an additional 10% service charge, 18% VAT is added to food/beverage/spa.

The room was spacious with a lovely bath and balcony overlooking the beach and pool. Old style furniture and comfortable bed. Staff very attentive. Pools both great with most sunbeds in a sandy area next to the main pool. Beach ideal for a walk and to take in local life. Road outside has lots of shops and restaurants. Hours cruise in the lagoon recommended - as is this hotel.

Five star experience. Everything was perfect from room comfort, customer service to dinning! We enjoyed our five day stay with great comfort!

Small, aged rooms. Great staff, always smiling and helpful. Extensive buffet and couple of other restaurants and a coffee shop. Close to the cbd , restaurants, hotels and beach front. Gym n swimming pool.roof top bar. Executive rooms are not worth the money.

Great friendly staff in all areas. Salt restaurant served fantastic Food, both Srilankan and western. Wonderful breakfasts.

The house was wonderful to stay in and visit. The only comment and this is a more philosophical one - what is the balance between originality and being fresh for a guest to inhabit? I think this needs careful thinking through. The house is wonderfu and its a great place to stay if you love Bawa architecture, but some areas could do with cleaning more thoroughly or replacing. There is no benefit in a knackered old japanese paper lantern when an identical one can be bought online cheaply, or an old blanket that has seen better days or a musty wardrobe - all these can be fixed without undermining an important piece of architecture. Beyond that, the house is wonderful, the staff are great and the house is in a great location in Colombo and I would recommend it as a place to visit if you are interested in Bawa's architecture.
