The rooms were clean and well decorated and the beds were very comfy. It was pretty close to everything so it was convenient.

The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. The hotel had a perfect location for us. The food at the adjacent cafe is delicious, too!

The arboretum behind the hotel was gorgeous, and there is a lit walking path at night to listen to all the toads in the pond. My room was spacious with really high ceilings, good blackout curtains, and a fully enclosed shower (so many hotels these days have exposed showers that get water on the floor). Staff was helpful when I needed a a complimentary item. It’s about a 10-minute Uber to the Charlottesville main street shopping/dining area. If you are visiting the UVA Law or Business schools, or if you have a loved one in Copeley Hill Apartments, you could not be any closer than this.

Our stay at Massanutten was a mixed experience. Our condo itself was perfect for our family…comfortable, spacious, clean, and a great home base for our trip. We also really enjoyed some of the activities, particularly the zip line and tubing, which were fun experiences for the kids and definite highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, other parts of the resort experience were disappointing. From the beginning, the resort felt overcrowded, understaffed, and difficult to navigate. Our room was not ready until well after the stated check-in time, there were no towels available at the pool, and customer service throughout the stay was inconsistent. The waterpark was particularly frustrating. The food we purchased was cold and poor quality, service was lacking, and by the afternoon there were extremely long waits with very limited slide availability. For what a family pays for admission, we expected a much better experience. The following morning, we arrived early for our pre-booked Alpine Coaster time only to discover it was closed, with no advance communication. We then spent a significant amount of time waiting in crowds without clear information or enough staff available to help us figure out what to do next. There were absolutely positives…we loved our condo, enjoyed the zip line and tubing, and the surrounding Shenandoah area is beautiful. However, the overall resort experience felt far more stressful than it should have for a family vacation.
