Thought this was a nice place overall. It was about a 10min walk to the mall/nearest subway station. The apartment was quite clean and peaceful. The pool is a nice feature as well. We also enjoyed the lobby social area, that had a coffee machine in the morning, TV, couches and fusball table. And, the staff was very nice and responsive and provided us with a constant supply of water throughout our stay, which was nice to not have to carry that back from the story in the heat. There were a few things we were disappointed with. The first is that we booked this for 5 of us and there were only two queen/double beds and a very small leather sofa that does not fold out to a bed. When I inquired about sleeping arrangements, they offered to bring me a bed for an extra charge which I did not think was appropriate. So, be cautious if you have more than 4 people unless they change the sofa to something that resembles a bed. Second, the units (there were two combined for our stay) were not well stocked with plates, silverware, coffee/tea cup or knives. I think there were maybe 3 or 4 forks, a few plates, a couple butter knives and 4 cups. Not sufficient for guests who wish to have a meal or two in the apartment. Please stock more utensils and plates for future guests and tighten the wobbly tables. Lastly, there was a slight unpleasant odor that came from one of the bathrooms at random moments; we noticed this usually when we came back from being out during the day.

Have no idea how this hotel is anything above 1 star! The following are my grievances:- No toiletries (as shown in photos!) No face washer. No bath mat. Towels were threadbare. The room was a depressing shade of grey with scuff marks on the walls. The bathroom/toilet was so tiny - knees hit the glass wall in front of the toilet! A very cheap blind on the glass by the toilet - dirty and cracked. Toilet roll holder dirty as was the swing mirror. Breakfast was dreadful - four dishes which were supposed to be hot but all cold. White bread in a bag and only jam as a condiment! And what hotel provides paper plates, paper cups and plastic cutlery!! Plastic glasses in the room - no glass ones! No spoons in the room - plastic stirrers only! No wardrobe - just a very old hanging rail. No bedside tables or chairs in the room. The doona barely covered the bed - let alone cover two people! The spa function in the pool didn't work and the pool was more like a large spa - definitely not able to swim! Way too small! Overall, the most dreadful hotel my husband and I have ever stayed! And we have travelled the world extensively! Whoever has rated this hotel a three star is totally delusional!

Property is getting a little dated. Rooms and furnishings have seen better days. Management need to look at upgrading the rooms including curtains, room furniture etc etc for the amount they charge !

Beautiful hotel, let down by service — such potential The Mett has so much going for it — the building itself is stunning, and our Junior Suite was gorgeous. The gym is genuinely one of the best I've used at a hotel, and we loved the park nearby. On paper this should be our go-to staycation spot. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the setting. At Canning Bar and reception we had to ask multiple times for basic things, and room service was the same story. We mentioned it was my partner Dav's birthday when we checked in, hoping for even a small gesture, but nothing came of it. The pool was a real disappointment. It was overdue a refresh even before the rain came, and afterwards it was left soaked and unusable — no one had cleaned it up. There was no music or atmosphere, kids were in the adult pool area, and staff walked past repeatedly without checking if we needed anything. Canning Bar itself was also freezing — we couldn't comfortably sit there for long. One bright spot: Robert, the manager, was attentive, warm, and clearly cared about getting things right — a shame the rest of the team didn't follow his lead. L'Amo restaurant was excellent too; we enjoyed it so much we went back a second night. With some attention to service standards and pool upkeep, this could easily be a five-star stay. Right now, it falls short of the potential the building and location clearly have.

It was nice though didn’t feel like a five star hotel, aside from the price.
