Rooms are clean. Overall, facilities are clean most of the time. Restaurant staff are slow. They are OK at first when you are seated; after that, you do not see them for 15min. No difference if you are at the buffet or restaurant. They should close their dinner restaurants. They are no better than their buffet-style one. The buffet one is even better. Their Asian one is just wasting the food. Mexican and Italian are still buffet-style and not that Italian or Mexican. Steakhouse requires reservations, but it is nothing special. Pools are good. I know the beach is not a hotel property, but it would be nice if they tried to clean it more often just to keep their visitors happy. Poolside bartenders are not trained very well. Mostly crashed iced drinks. Water is the best. It is clean and warm.

long distance of walking required throughout the property. long wait for shuttles. No beach towels at the entrance to the beach area, need to walk far end of the pool to get one. Mitra restaurant had buffet but replenishments of the food was horrible. Small quantity placed. low quality liquor. Must purchase upgrade to get premium liquors. Specialty restaurants were excellent, food was outstanding and the service was great. Rooms were comfortable and clean. You must ask for beach chair at the beach if you wish to lounge or sunbath.

This was our first trip to Tamarindo and we had a chance to walk the length of the beach and visit most of the properties facing the ocean. We definitely made the right decision to stay at the Ocho Bungalows! It's a little more private, quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city, but within easy walking distance of everything you could be looking for. The staff was first class, especially on the front end after we had made the resy, to see if there was anything they could do in preparation for our arrival. We would definitely recommend Ocho!
