We enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, good food, convenient and the service was excellent.

Truly excellent place to stay

A place with history, nice architecture. Very nice room with direct ocean facing window. Can open windows and stay off-aircon with fan. Nice small private beach and seawater pool to swim. Unfortunately the LED lighting in the rooms has flicker/strobe effects (reason is the cheapo ac/dc converters built into asian consumer grade lights), this has a subtile stress effect.

We received a very warm welcome upon arrival and were checked in at the Club Lounge, where the service has been consistently exceptional. The Club Lounge team especially Upeksh, Prasanna, Wasantha, Damith, Dilshan, and Chain — have been outstanding throughout our stay. Breakfast was very good, and overall the staff are friendly and attentive. However, I observed several issues that should be addressed. Internal communication between departments needs significant improvement. On multiple occasions, despite informing the team that we extended our stay, both my wife and I received repeated calls and had our keys disabled twice. This happened four times, and we did not receive an appropriate personal apology, which is expected from a five-star property. Additionally, some minor health and safety concerns and inaccuracies in menu descriptions were raised, but no one followed up to confirm whether these were being addressed. Acknowledgement and feedback are essential in maintaining professional standards. Overall, we are still staying at the hotel and would recommend it, especially due to the excellent Club Lounge service. However, operational consistency and communication need to be improved. I ended my Sri Lanka vacation in this peaceful place. I really left this place well rested, the spa is great, the food healthy, the staff kind and well trained and accommodating. I highly recommend this place.

I ended my Sri Lanka vacation in this peaceful place. I really left this place well rested, the spa is great, the food healthy, the staff kind and well trained and accommodating. I highly recommend this place.
