Loved everything of this hotel specially the people who were very helpful.

The location is great. Right by the beach, centrally located to all the attractions. Pool and pool area are great too. The rest in my opinion falls short of the 4 star, $500+ per night (with all the taxes and fees) hotel. I would give it 3.75 stars but there is no such option. Some areas are dated. You can tell the hotel tries to maintain them by painting stuff over but it shows. For me the worst were supply and return grills for the A/C unit. Very dirty. We actually had been turning the A/C off as much as we could so we would not breathe in the dust!! Thankfully the wonderful ocean breeze helped :) Breakfast buffet is decent but it falls short of the Marriott's standards. Some more daily variety would be nice.

The rooms are honestly a bit run down and the area is very touristy, but that is to be expected given the location. The common spaces are very cute, well designed, and good for groups to hang out in, with the fire pits, games room and lounge areas. Sheets and towels were not good quality and it was complicated to navigate between the rooms (the hotel is really big and has several wings), parking, and street level. For tourists, the location is central and close to a lot of attractions. For someone looking for a true retreat or a peaceful getaway, this isn't it! Also overnight parking is an exorbitant $65, and if you are out by 9am, you could easily find free/cheap street parking in the vicinity, just be careful to read all posted signs and avoid getting a parking ticket due to street cleaning.

Room was clean and had turn down service. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Pool and beach were beautiful and well kept.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Garland. Super clean & comfortable. Staff was helpful & nice. Our grandchildren had a blast in the pool and the food from the poolside restaurant was tastyl
