Wish the tennis and pickleball courts had lights and you could play at night because it is so hot during the day. All the outlets (which there were very few) were all loose and sometimes wouldn’t hold the plug and it would fall out.

I have been to newer RIU properties for eg RIU Ocho Rios in Jamaica and it was beautiful there. But RIU Punta Palace is nice too. But not as new as RIU Ocho Rios. Still enjoyed my time because the staff was wonderful

Pros: good polite serving staff, clean rooms, always had bottle water and beer available in room, restaurant food was good. Beach was nice and always had chairs and clean towels available. Felt safe always, even during transport from airport.
Cons: if you're an only english speaking america you will have trouble understanding a lot of the workers, including the front desk personnel. We had to go back and ask someone when our reservations were and several other questions because we were clueless. Im not saying it's the resorts fault, but something to consider. The buffet food for lunch and dinner is horrible. The desserts are a total catfish, but the drinks were all good. We had several bahama mamas and pina coladas.
