Beautiful Lakeside Setting, but Service and Maintenance Need Improvement The stunning lake views and peaceful surroundings are undoubtedly what make this property a destination. Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay fell short of expectations. Our experience with the front desk was disappointing. We had requested a specific floor in advance and were assured by a manager that it would not be a problem. Upon arrival, however, staff dismissed the request, stating it was never guaranteed. We understand requests depend on availability, but the argumentative and dismissive attitude, particularly in front of other guests, was unprofessional. The rooms have lovely layouts, attractive tilework, cabinetry, and amenities. However, cleanliness and maintenance need attention. Walls and ledges appeared neglected, the main blind was broken and had to be tied up, and the living room furniture was noticeably worn. The bed was also extremely hard. Another concern was the unpleasant smell throughout the guest room floors. Housekeeping carts occupied the hallways much of the day, detracting from the atmosphere. Improved cleanliness and a subtle, natural fresh scent would enhance the experience. Positives: Beautiful lake views, quiet location, excellent coffee machine, thoughtful room layout, and lovely soaking tub. Overall, this property has tremendous potential, but service, cleanliness, and maintenance should better reflect the quality expected of a destination hotel.
