Crookback House-What an absolute gem this is. As a group of friends we have stayed at many holiday rentals over the years but this one definitely wins the prize for the one which was truly outstanding in many ways!The communication from the host was clear, friendly, helpful, flexible, kind, informative, above and beyond brilliant and we were left in no doubt that our stay would be great even before we arrived! The host - Andy, greeted us at the property which was ideal and we were definitely enthusiastic in our response to the house when seeing it for the first time!! It is gorgeous, full of character, history and has clearly undergone restoration and improvements with much love and care. Not only this but we had a welcome hamper including mince pies, fizz for the birthday girl (glasses & ice bucket at the ready!), biscuits, crisps, chocolate and even pocket tissues which might sound odd to get excited about but with pretty ghastly windy & rainy weather, they were ideal for a weather beaten runny noses ! It was warm & cosy for our time in the house for laughter and games, great bluetooth speaker, smart TV, nice dining areas. The beds were comfy & the view from the kitchen window was the best. A holiday rental when the boundary wall itself is the York City Wall, you couldn't be any closer to the action! Well equipped, complimentary beer in the party room, LED candles which are clever for that perfect atmosphere The attention to detail was exemplary . LOVED IT!
