Low key basics near Yarmouth's ferry terminal

Low key no frills comfort near The Cat Ferry terminal in Yarmouth. Shows its age with a few cracked floor tiles, but the room was quiet and comfy after a long drive and ferry trip.

Before I give my review, I believe the hotel was undergoing a complete renovation room-by-room. Our room had not been renovated yet so I don’t think it should’ve been rented out. What we noticed for the two nights that we stayed there was a shabby & dusty room. I don’t mind shabby and old, but I don’t appreciate it being unclean. The bathtub and the toilet were dirty. The shower curtain was disgusting. My husband and I did not take showers for the two nights that we stayed there. The vanity/sink in the bathroom appeared to be clean. There were plenty of towels. The floors were dusty and damaged. The sheets on the beds were rumpled and old and the bedspreads were stained. There were no hooks in the bathroom. There was no closet. The kitchen was not fully equipped: there were no glasses nor dishcloths/towels. There were a few dishes and eating utensils and only one dull knife. No veggie peeler; no bottle openers. The price of the room was not high, but you weren’t getting much for your money. I would wait until they did a complete renovation before ever renting a room from this motel again. The staff seemed to be friendly, although we didn’t spend a lot of time speaking to the staff.

Simple access, gracious host and clean as a whistle room. There was difficulty getting tv to work, but handled by the staff quickly. (turned out to be batteries in one remote). Breakfast was simple but good. The lady in charge was a great host for our one night stay. I would stay again

The people at check in were nice but the room was dirty and cabinets falling apart. The couch had a very old cover on it, the windows were sealed shut and very dirty. We decided to leave and stay somewhere else.

This property was not terrible, but it was in poor state of repair and missing many amenities one would expect from a motel. It felt more like a neglected air BNB. There were some positives though. There was ample room and beds. The view of the lake was beautiful and the proximity to town was perfect.

Tried to call multiple times to confirm my arrival time. No answer. Arrived around 7 pm. There was no lights in at the offiice. I used the ring buzzer. I was told my room number and the key was in it. The room was cold. Furniture in front of all the registers. No breakfast the next morning as stated in my reservation.

This place was ok. You get what you pay for. We booked a kitchenette and it was nice but very old. Rusty heaters, fridge and oven. No AC. there was a fan and a tv and microwave. Only ONE kitchen chair which was very strange. Nothing fancy by any means but if you're looking for a cheap stay, this is just fine. Staff were very friendly! Free breakfast (toast, yogurt, apples, cereal, coffee. Nothing special but still good.)

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the area is a little too far to go downtown by foot. Everything seemed normal until the taxis would get to the rooms near us on multiple occasions and honk their horn for the tenant to see him. So finally, it seemed like a place rented weekly or monthly to people with certain issues!!!

20 years old, no ac, coffee pot but no coffee. Hot water goes in and out, shower knob to turn off hot water which turned ice cold could not be turned off, until plummer arrived to fix it.

I was charged twice, once by Expedia and once at checkin. If I didn’t verified and asked to be re-imbursed one of the two, I guess the motel would have kept the money. Also I wasn’t given the wifi password at checkin.

We ended up leaving because it was too hot and muggy for a small room without air conditioning. The receptionist was very nice and found us an extra fan but that just wasn't going to work in that climate. Clean updated room with kitchenette would have been fine except for that, the big windows didn't open and the small windows didn't provide enough air flow. We would have never been able to sleep.
