We were just a short walk down from Colchester Castle and High Street, where we could find a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and shops. The city centre train station was just a short walk away as well. Thank you to our host for the awesome check-in and also for the lift to the "other" train station for our trip back into London. "Very clean and comfortable large room. Lovely hotel with staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Liked the digital bill before checkout, just breakfast in my case to add. Made a check very easy. Hotel location on the marina was great and the parking was good and safe. Will be happy to revisit."

"Beautiful hotel with stunning interior decor in a very central location and handy car park (at extra cost). We had a twin room on the first floor (room 205) which, although was comfortable with excellent shower and comfy beds, the pigeon muck on the outside of the windows was not very nice! We enjoyed our 1 night stay (with a good breakfast) but would not recommend a room on that side of the building as the noise from the outdoor terrace area was substantial from check-in through to late night. Staff were very friendly and welcoming."

"We like Seckford Hall for it's traditional ambience and previously had stayed here in 1977 for the Aldeburgh Festival - we found the programme for the year we had attended at the Red House in Aldeburgh. Our visit this time was to see the site of the historical dig at Sutton Hoo. The hotel is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. There have been a few changes in 50 years and the hotel is well used as a wedding venue. Occasionally there was disco music until midnight but it did not cause us too much disturbance. Breakfast was excellent - all hot food served fresh at the table and a wide choice of cold buffet. We did not get round to eating in the restaurant but there are plenty of good places to eat in nearby Woodbridge."

"The room was fine, good size, clean, everything in working order. However, the room was extremely hot with no air conditioning and there was a lot of noise from outside. Staff were very helpful, allowed us to check in early but unable to change our room to reduce heat or noise as the hotel was full. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice."
