This was a nice, though small room. I think this is a newer listing, so there’s room for improvement. The listing didn’t indicate that you have no access to control the temperature in the room. I read about it in a review a little while after booking. As a woman going through menopause, I inquired about cancelling, as I knew not having the ability to control temperature was going to be a challenge. Owner offered to lower temp to 68 at night or allow me to cancel...for $100. $100 charge to allow me to cancel a reservation I just made. I went ahead and kept the reservation rather than lose the money. Inside of our VRBO booking, we were not provided with access information to get into the room. We were told someone would meet us to let us in. I wasn’t thrilled with this, but ok. At arrival, we were met by a woman who let us into the room then proceeded to go in and show us a couple of things...all the while unmasked. She told us the code to get into the unit, but it still wasn’t posted in the VRBO booking info. With being exhausted from traveling, I forgot the code. Since it wasn’t listed in my booking, I had to message the owner. As we settled in, I reference my booking for the wifi code; again, not there. I had to message the owner again. We then use the restroom after a while on the road. No hand soap. Messaged the owner again. I will say that the owner was responsive; however, the listing would’ve gone up several notches in my book had there been check in/WiFi info in the booking as well as some sort of booklet in the unit with local info, and info on how to work the shower.
Other big issue was that there’s a VERY bright street light that shines into the glass paned door. The glass is textured, but that does nothing for the light. If you need a dark room to sleep like I do, you won’t get any here. The door needs a shade, and the window needs curtains. There was an extra blanket and towels, but they had tags on them...meaning they went straight from store shelves to the unit without being washed. Other suggestions would be...a garbage can in the bathroom and some sort of mirror in the room. Big plus was the location. Close to the trail and quaint and wonderful downtown Winter Garden. Also allowed my pup. This unit has potential, but it needs some things addressed including being upfront in the listing about lack of temperature control. Didn’t feel that it was worth what the nightly rate came out to after fees.
