Our room was spacious with a great view of Windsor Castle. We arrived early but our room was ready and we checked in about 1:00 PM. The location is in the heart of Windsor, a short walk to shopping, dining, the Thames and of course Windsor Castle. I do wish there was better air conditioning, this seems to be an issue in England, other hotels on our trip had the same problem. Overall I'd recommend the Harte and Garter and would stay there again.

Central to Windsor and overlooks the castle, excellent location
We expected more I think. Overall it was a great stay, a bit strange that they don’t do breakfast in a dinning area. Rather they give you a bag of breakfast which isn’t warm. They don’t have air conditioning in the room which gets very hot during summer!! Other than these, staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is right opposite the castle, and great place to stay.
Location is what makes this hotel stand out, being right outside the castle. Rooms are definitely older style, not updated much, but comfortable enough.

Excellent location, across the street from Windsor Castle, many restaurants and shops. Hotel very outdated.
It is a beautiful old building in an incredible location right over the road from the castle, the staff were wonderful; helpful, polite and professional, I had a standard room which was actually huge! The bed was very comfortable and clean, it is a very short walk away from loads of lovely cafes and is next door to the Ivy. I would absolutely stay here again

The location and the staff were amazing. Property is a little dated and would benefit from a refresh in terms of decor and furniture etc.
Perfect location; right by the station and opposite the castle.
Lovely hotel, great views from the front rooms, helpful and friendly staff. We will return.

Our room may not have been quite up to Deluxe standard. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Good towels. Very good view from our room across to Windsor castle. Did not hear any noise in the night. Would have preferred to have had a cooked breakfast in a dining room which is not part of the hotel. Staff were very helpful. A lovely old hotel with lots of character. Needs some decorating in places. We enjoyed our stay.
This hotel can’t be beat for location - right across from the castle. In all the action but still quiet. The price was a pleasant surprise as well. The staff was helpful, storing luggage, an extra teabag, etc. I would definitely stay there again.

Characterful, comfortable and well equipped rooms. Dated, but that is very much part of the charm.
Incredible location, ample parking nearby (chargeable, but that is very much to be expected in central Windsor).
Welcoming and accommodating staff.
Great value.
Lovely looking hotel from the outside urs a shame the rooms are not massively maintained.
Shabby thread bare carpets with paint on them bathroom seen better days
No air-conditioning just a fan and a window can only open slightly (No air con should be mentioned on site) no plugs near the bed and not great lighting
Upside the staff were very helpful

Right across from Windsor castle. In the heart of restaurants, shopping and bars. A little dated but room was clean and roomy and comfortable. Train station 2 minute walk.
I liked the hotel; however, it doesn't include breakfast, so there's a regular coffee shop in the room. Nevertheless, there are restaurants and cafes near the hotel, which was also good and didn't pose a problem. We loved the experience of staying at the hotel opposite Windsor Castle.
We were treated politely by staff and they were helpful but honestly, the facade is just so deceptive! A beautiful front and lounge, then very much in need of some tlc inside. Also, a beautiful website but no detail, just feel a little conned if I’m honest. A little honesty here please!
Excellent location, small room, the heater wasn’t great, bed was okay. The staff was lovely.

Perfect location for visiting Windsor. We paid for a castle view and wow it was 100% worth it. Stunning views. Perfect people watching spot. Perfect for watching the changing of the guards.

The hotel was lovely and clean,
The 1 staff member I encountered was very helpful.
My main issue with this hotel was 2 single beds pushed together to make a double. Was uncomfortable!
Although the room was nice and clean it looked like it had been decorated by toddlers. Absolute bodge job of the paint work.
