We booked the week before to stay here for the weekend, as it is almost mid-way between Windermere (10 min walk) and Bowness-on-Windermere (15 min walk). I was originally put off by this spot being listed as a guest house, but my worries were unfounded as it is amazingly good. There is a large free car park with more spaces than rooms, so you're guaranteed a space. Our welcome was really good ( I'd emailed them to ask about vegan breakfast options, so they had left soya milk on our teatray in our room). Our room (11) was a good size with a king-size four poster, a sofa to sit and watch the TV from, a chair and coffee table in the box bay window space, and a large bathroom with a corner shower and large bath. We were on the ground floor facing the main road but heard very little road noise. Breakfast was good, as were the vegan sausages, and I was even offered vegan yogurt. There is a great choice of restaurants in both Windermere and Bowness-on- Windermere, but because it was peak holiday season a lot were already booked up. Our highlights were walking to the peak of Orrest Head, and the Windermere lake cruises. I definitely recommend Hawksmoor Guest House, it's just amazing.

Room 7 was very nice and beds are comfy. The house is very clean and the breakfast was nice and big. Only thing i would say is that around the bath was a bit black and moldy in parts (a pet hate of mine) . Other than that, a nice stay, and id definently return
