"I love this hotel and I'm sad not to be able to give it 5 stars but it's sadly suffering from neglect. I know times are hard for hospitality but it could be so much nicer with a few changes. For instance why have a cupboard obviously meant for a fridge but not have a fridge? Why have fake grass on the balcony which gets full of water and very unpleasant to walk on? Why not have a nice set of furniture on the balcony? we had one chair no table. Our kettle didn't work, the plughole in the bathroom had no guard so a risk of losing your rings down it. There was no maid service we had to make our own bed. The towel rail didn't get hot so we had wet towels. We used the pool this time, no privacy in the ladies changing rooms unless you get changed in a wet shower or in the toilet and the pool area is more functional than luxurious. This all sounds terrible doesn't it? But I still love this hotel. It's not expensive to stay, the rooms are massive, the bathrooms are nice, the restaurant is beautiful and the staff are lovely. Please people in charge just put a bit of effort in to make it perfect."

"Very impressed with the hotel. Staff were great as was the breakfast. Had a 2nd floor double room in the courtyard, which was spacious and very quiet which I liked. It was a little cool in the room but had a sufficient wall heater to help with that. Very nice modern bathroom and shower. Very grand building and the spa & pool which looked amazing and very inviting but didn’t have time to use. Family friendly and busy whilst I was there. Would recommend a stay here to my friends "

"This property is lovely and would recommend providing the below points are addressed. We sent our list to the owner and feel confident that the issues will be dealt with as she was unaware of the problems.The Kitchen had equipment/furniture missing or broken, including toaster, tin opener, dining chairs (missing bolts which were in a pot on the window sill), and oven gloves. Clock, Quooker tap, light over dining table and clock not working.The beds were clean and comfy but there was rubbish behind headboard in one room.Outside was a problem as the flags and wood strip near hot tub are green and slippy, in fact one of the family did slip. The cover for the hot tub was damaged but a new one is on order.Also we were unable to take a bath as the water was not hot enough for long enough.We loved the dressing gowns and views, the general decor and garden.The house is just a bit tired but easy to put right."
