A Quiet and Peaceful Retreat
The Houseboat Villa Nautica is not for everyone. My wife and I are 70 and enjoy staying in unique accommodations such as the tented camps in Kenya. We are self-sufficient and are comfortable living out of our two carry-on bags. We own property in the Rocky Mountains in Canada and love having our morning coffee on our deck watching the wildlife that call this part of the world home. We do appreciate having a meal in a local restaurant, but it doesn't have to have a 4-star Michelin rating. Yes, houseboat is small, but it was well equipped, and was a perfect fit for us. The Villa Nautica is for you if, you are like us, and enjoy: a. sitting on the upper deck watching the Rhine gently flowing past. b. watching the ducks, Egyptian Geese, cormorants, and countless other species of birds that live in the area. c. having well stocked food store, with its own bakery, within easy walking distance (8 minutes). d. having a very nice restaurant located in the same area as the food store. e. having easy access to the two bus routes that service this area. f. being in a quiet area. (The noise from the nearby train bridge did not bother us at all.) We also appreciated that Jan & Sabrina, the property managers, responded to our questions within minutes. The WIFI was excellent. For those who have criticized this property, I would suggest that you carefully consider the description provided and be advised that you will be staying on a small houseboat and not on a cruise ship!

In Blickrichtung ist der Ausblick wirklich ganz schön. Allerdings zur anderen Seite hin ist eine Brücke für den Zugverkehr, und das ist alles andere als gemütlich, besonders im "Schlafzimmer". Dies ist allerdings eher eine Koje ohne Nachttisch/Lampe o.ä. mit dicken 80 x 80 Kopfkissen. Die zweite Person muss über die erste krabbeln. Alles irgendwie vertretbar, allerdings hatten wir direkt zu Beginn kein Warmwasser. Wir mussten mit dem Besitzer telefonieren. Ja, das Gas sei wohl alle. Das Ventil der neuen Gas-Kartusche war so fest zugeschraubt, dass wir uns Werkzeug bei einem Bootseigentümer im Hafen holen mussten. Als wir nach dem Abendessen auf das Boot kamen, war Kohlenmonoxid-Alarm. Schiebetüren auf, Eigentümer wieder angerufen. Ja, das Problem sei bekannt, der Raum sei eben recht klein. Keine Hilfe wurde angeboten, keine Entschuldigung, gar nichts. Es piepste dann noch öfter. Wir fühlten uns nicht wohl dabei. Infos bzw. Tipps für das Boot/die Umgebung/Fernbedienungen etc. gab es nicht. Kurzum: das Geld für den kompletten Aufenthalt wurde uns ein halbes Jahr im voraus abgebucht. Nicht nur eine Anzahlung, wie sonst üblich. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht.

Aufenthalt abgebrochen
Die Bilder in der Anzeige täuschen. Die Aussicht ist durch ein zweites Boot versperrt. Wir haben 2 Nächte gebucht. Schon ab dem ersten Abend funktionierte das Warmwasser nicht. Überall war es sehr staubig und voller Spinnenweben, von der Klobürste, mit den Hinterlassenschaften des Vormieters, möchte ich garnicht erst anfangen. Der Check-in gestaltete sich schwierig, da keine Vorabinformation mit Schlüsselcode vom Vermieter bereitgestellt wurde. Leider haben wir den Aufenthalt nach einer Nacht abgebrochen. Bei einem Gesamtpreis von ca. 280 € für zwei Nächte, haben wir mehr erwartet.

Schönes Hausboot
Wir waren im Oktober ein Wochenende dort. Man hat alles gut gefunden. Die Kpche ist funktional eingerichtet. Leider schaut man tatsöchlich nicht mehr aufs Wasser sondern auf ein weiteres Hausboot... Ansonsten bis auf eine kalte Dusche alles Bestens.

Urlaub müsste auf dem Boot abgebrochen werden aufgrund von derartiger Hitze keine Klima nur Vorhänge
Leider konnten wir nur eine Nacht dort bleiben weil es so abartig heiß (keine Klimaanlage vor Ort) im Boot war das wir es nicht ausgehalten haben zu vergleichen mit einem Auto das in der prallen Sonne steht! Die Nacht war der Horror. Zum Glück sind wir in einem sehr netten naheliegenden Hotel untergekommen. Der Grill war ziemlich dreckig, das Wasser völlig verschmutzt und es roch sehr stark nach Kloake und dreck. Die Location ist nicht schön.

We gaven aan 3 rustige dagen te willen hebben. Maar een hondenwei vlakbij zorgde voor bijna constant geblaf tot laat in de avond. Er loopt een trein over de brug vlakbij. We hadden 2 klussende buurmannen. Pannen en BBQ waren niet schoon. Kussens van de lounge set waren nat. Geen ontvangst en dus geen uitleg. Na het vergelijken van de foto’s hebben we de boot gevonden. Beddengoed was kriebelig synthetisch. We schrokken van onverwacht bezoek van iemand die de boot op komt en het dak op gaat. We hoorde hem rommelen. Toen we vroegen wie hij was reageerde hij geïrriteerd en bij doorvragen bleek hij de was te komen halen. Je gaat niet zomaar iemands boot op. Boos liep het met de was weg. En 2 dagen later doet hij weer precies hetzelfde met de was brengen. We hebben dit bovenstaande rechtstreeks naar de verhuurder gemeld maar nog geen reactie.

Sehr schön gelegenes Hausboot!
Unser Aufenthalt war sehr schön und wir haben die Zeit wirklich genossen. :) Es war trotz des nahegelegenen Bahnüberganges und einer viel befahrenen Straße in der Nacht ruhig und erholsam. Die Züge hat man oft nur als leises Rauschen wahrgenommen. Leider ist bei uns auch (wie schon mal erwähnt) wiederholt der Alarm nachts im Wohnbereich angegangen, obwohl wir durchgängig gelüftet hatten. Und irgendein Vormieter hat anscheinend ein paar Tassen und Becher nicht ganz sauber hinterlassen...:( Aber alles in Allem war es für uns beide wirklich toll und erholsam! Wir können es nur weiter empfehlen ;)

Zunächst das Positive: Das Hausboot an sich ist wirklich schön, die Einrichtung ist ansprechend, der Ausblick in Richtung Mainz sehr schön. Mit dem Rad ist man schnell in Mainz Kastel bzw Mainz mit sehr schönen "Strand" Bars. Was nicht schön war und uns den Aufenthalt in Summe dann verleidet hat... Die Dusche funktionierte drei Tage nicht richtig, ok lag am Wasserdruck und konnte am 3. Tag behoben werden. Aber wir hatten dann noch zweimal eine Störung der Therme und dass dann ohne jedes Entgegenkommen der Vermieter, bei dem Preis....nun ja... Zweiter Kritikpunkt, wir hatten uns auf den Grill gefreut, zum einen zeigten die Spinnenweben, dass dieser schon länger nicht benutzt wurde. Die Ursache war schnell klar, wir hätten die große Gasflasche von der Therme abschrauben, nach draußen schleppen und anschließen müssen. Ehrlich? Bei dem Preis sollte eine zweite Gasflasche für den Grill drin sein. Das größte Problem aber war für uns der Gestank. Es roch einfach nach Kloake und es roch nur auf dem Hausboot. Am 3. Tag ging es los und wurde dann jeden Tag schlimmer. An unserem Abreisetag (5. Tag) war es so unerträglich, dass wir nur noch das Weite gesucht haben. Auf meine WhatsApp an die Vermieterin, in der ich Ihr das Problem mitgeteilt habe, kam dann gar keine Antwort mehr. Wer den vollen Betrag bei Buchung einfordert und einen recht hohen Preis pro Nacht einfordert, muss meiner Meinung nach auch entsprechend "liefern". Schade, wir hatten uns auf die Zeit wirklich gefreut.
