Every trip to or from the property adjacent to the paved highway, we saw at least 12 deer, sometimes more, eating and lounging in the wheat or canola fields. Turkeys were common visitors. We encountered several Elk, including an adorable cow with her calf. But on the last day, we had the best sighting of all, three Black Bears crossed the driveway on a casual morning walk. It was amazing to see these animals in the wild.
My family (2 adults, 2 kids) love the location of this home. It is a few minutes to Whitefish and close to all the great activities we did in the area, including Glacier, fishing at Whitefish Lake, summer activities at Whitefish Mountain Resort and trips to Kalispell to shop or go to the movies.
The home is spacious. Our kids liked the basement setting with a TV and lower level bedrooms. The kitchen appliances are up to date and well appointed. I appreciated easy access to laundry facilities. My husband and I enjoyed coffee or a cold one on the deck overlooking the Stillwater River. The mature pines provide shade. And if you pay attention, the pines “talk” as the wind blows. The home is well decorated with art that tastefully meets the charm of the mountains and old west Montana. My family will definitely stay here again when we return to the Whitefish area.
We traveled to the property in our truck. The 1/2 Mile or so gravel road was no problem. Since we live in a state teeming with mosquitoes, we came prepared for the short burst of mosquitoes in the area during the last part of June. I understand that the Montana mosquitos were out of the norm for June 2018.
I highly recommend this property if you enjoy the beauty of nature with the balance of luxury.
