Great location but needs some TLC
The management company was quick to respond to all enquiries and very polite. Local area travel brochures at the home were 3 yrs old. No towel hook when using the shower. There were only 2 rolls of toilet tissue for 2 women and 1 man over 6 days so we had to buy more ourselves, although the mgmt co. offered to reimburse us. Many lights were burnt out and all clocks needed fresh batteries. There were cobwebs all through the cottage. No towels were provided, which was a pain because we had to bring our own from Canada. Kitchen was well stocked (including towels) although there was no provision for recycling so everything ended up in the trash. That seemed odd because there was a public notice posted in the kitchen telling local residents about local recycling procedures and what colour bags to use for that purpose.
There were no instructions on how to use the heating system (tankless hot water) on cold nights. The beds had no top sheet; just a comforter that did not appear to have been cleaned between guests. Spare sheets were singles whereas our bed was a double.
TV and books are provided for longer stays, but magazines were old. Hair drier, iron and ironing board were useful. A washing machine is provided, but no dryer.
The biggest complaint was the abundance of cobwebs and the filthy floors. The small carpet runners could easily be cleaned/replaced and the hardwood could be scrubbed. Those issues plus the dead batteries and burnt out lights tainted our visit and this review.
Stayed 5 nights in Jul 2019
