Great location, centre of city, rooms well appointed, quest are our preferred accommodation when travelling, and it was up to our usual expectations from a quest. Only comment he had is the car parking underneath is a bit tight. But overall a good stay.

Great location in the centre of Whangarei. Spotless room, comfortable bed, good shower, a well equipped kitchen and friendly hosts on reception. Now the bad - this hotel lists a "Safe" in the "More" section of the information for each room type - there was no safe in my room - the hotel should really remove the "Safe" from the Expedia room descriptions (I know there is a safe at reception, but that is already listed in the "Property amenities" section of the listing, and it should not be included in the room descriptions if it is not in the room - reception is not open 24 hours anyway). On my final morning I was woken at 8:15am by a cleaner vacuuming in the next room - the soundproofing around the connecting door is poor!

A fantastic stay

The Quest in Whangarei is fresh and new and offers a very great option for a business stay. The boys on reception are really nice and always happy to go the extra step to make the stay comfortable.

Property is right in middle of city centre and easy walking distance to everyone. Car parking is available but $15 per night, which is a bit over the top.

Good location, easy parking, clean and tidy room. Very helpful and courteous receptionist. We arrived Easter Sunday about 530pm and had to use intercom to gain access but it was really hard to hear due to traffic noise.

The room was warm and comfortable, and in a great location. Unfortunately there was loud music from a bar or club next door that played until the small hours of the morning that kept both rooms in our party awake. The people staying above us were also very loud.

The staff were very nice and the location was great, but the room was not cleaned properly, we found food in the freezer and very dirty dish in the oven. There was only one clean over a 3 night stay and all they did was make the bed poorly and change the towels.

For the price this place is basic. You are paying 5 star prices and getting 3 star standard. Basic. Lamps in bedroom didn’t work. It was just cheap, cold no view not comfortable in the apartment. I stay all over nz for work and I have never paid over $330 for a night in such a basic hotel. I’ll never stay here again

The property is in an excellent location in downtown Whagarei, clean, comfortable but the check-in process was very strange. They don’t have anyone at the front desk after 5 PM. You have to call on an intercom to someone, wait a while on hold for them to answer, then it is hard to hear them with traffic going on. There happened to be one staff member, who by coincidence had to stay late for something else. She found me or else I may never have found my way to our room or to parking.
