Enjoy all of the beauty and excitement that the Adirondacks have to offer in the winter in your own cozy log sided cabin. Grill outside on your charcoal BBQ, make s’mores in the stone fire pit, take a refreshing three mile walk through the quaint Hamlet of Wells and around Lake Algonquin or just curl up with a good book in your warm and comfy cabin.

Set on a hill in the edge of the woods overlooking Lake Algonquin a newly constructed cabin with all new appliances and furnishings. One bedroom with a full size bed and two twin beds in the loft. One bathroom with tub and shower and washer/dryer. Fully furnished modern kitchen with stainless electric stove, microwave and refrigerator. Living room with 32” flat screen TV , Dish Network, WiFi and furnished with unique Adirondack style furniture.

Located in the heart of the southern Adirondacks, Ruby Hill is 15 minutes from Oak Mountain Ski Area , 30 minutes from Gore Mountain and 20 minutes from Lapland Lake Cross Country Ski Area. There are also numerous trails nearby for snowshoeing, hiking and cross country skiing.



We provide an ideal cabin for those who want to experience an Adirondack getaway in the woods with the convenience of nearby winter activities. An experience that will keep you coming back year after year.

* Please keep in mind that the weather in the Adirondacks can be unpredictable. Although we are diligent when it comes to plowing and sanding, vehicles that do not handle slippery roads well may have difficulty getting up the hill to the cabin.

Very clean, fully renovated cabin with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Very relaxing, beautiful location. Hiked, saw waterfalls, did shopping, canoed. Nice owners. Would stay again.

Great Adirondack Cabin

Great cabin location in Wells- close to lots of trails/ waterfalls, public lake beach, and private dock with kayaks. Loved building campfires, playing games on the the screened in porch, and getting outside. Just enough space for a family of 4, and perfect setting. Thanks so much for a great stay!

Great cabin with all the amenities.

Gerry is the best host I’ve ever met on VRBO. He is gracious and goes out of his way to make sure you have everything you need. Checked in with us to make sure everything was ok. The cabin is gorgeous and has a beach nearby along with a canoe and kayaks to use on the lake . Had the best time in Wells and will def be back. This was our second time coming here and you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay.

Great start

The property was pretty and private, with a beautiful view. Very quiet town. The cabin was clean, updated, and nicely decorated. Our kids loved sleeping in the loft! The owner was very friendly and checked in with us when we arrived. There was a storm the night before we were to check out and they had the driveway plowed quickly. They were also nice enough to offer a later check out time to make sure we could leave safely. Close to Oak Mountain for skiing!Definitely recommend!

Birthday/anniversary getaway

Our family of four had a wonderful long weekend stay! The cabin was perfect for our family and we enjoyed the canoe/kayaks provided. Nice little walk to little local beach. The front porch is great even if weather isn't cooperative. We celebrated 2 birthdays a d our anniversary on this trip. We are already looking to see when we can go back and maybe rent both cabins with some friends!

Convenient stay in a cozy cabin

What a cute and well maintained cabin! The living room turned out to be a little smaller than we pictured, but it ended up being a blessing in disguise because then we spent less time watching TV and more time in the screened porch playing cards and talking. We also loved the convenience of the home between both stores and short walk to the dock and kayaks.

Ruby Hill Camp

My wife and I had a lovely weeklong stay at Ruby Hill. The cabin was well-appointed, clean, and cozy, and our host Gerry was welcoming and gracious. There are days of great hikes to do nearby, as well as kayaks to explore the lake. It is south of Adirondack park, but being a little away from the tourist stuff was exactly what I was looking for! Visitors should be aware that there is no wifi at the camp, which for us was actually nice, but could prove tricky for people hoping to work remotely or further plan their travels using the internet. We hope we have a chance to return!

Great stay!

The cabin has the essentials and is tucked up the hill in a quiet spot. We stayed in Cabin A this time and have been in B prior. Cabin B definitely has a little bit more of a "private" feel as it's at the end of the lane but A is still a great spot. Gerry gave us a call shortly after we arrived to make sure we were settled and knew how to reach him. He also gave info on where to go and things to do which is always appreciated. He warned us that his dog might wander past for a visit and I'm a little sad I didn't get a chance to say hello :) It was cold so we didn't get a chance to get out on the lake but hiking was fabulous! We will be back again!

Making memories

We had such a great time! The cabin was perfect for our family and in such a wonderful location. I have two 8 yr olds and a 10 yr old and our weekend getaway to this cabin was perfect. So many great kid friendly hiking trails near by, clean swim area and a clean and comfortable cabin to rest, read and play games. Owners are wonderful and we look forward to coming back in the future.
