Staying in the Waterloo Hotel always with a sense of wonder how long this has accommodated peoples stay. Queen Elizabeth stayed here! You get as much or as little out of this stay as you like. Meeting people in the elevator, nice chat. Staff who are always willing to increase the comfort of the stay. There were a couple of earth quakes. I on the 5th floor, but the building gently swayed and all was well :)

The single room with ensuite I booked was clean and perfectly adequate for a short overnight stay. The building is very old so there is no soundproofing from the windows and the hotel can be quite noisy at times during the night. Overall, good value for money considering it's central location

Old but did the job for me. In the city, right opposite train station so pretty convenient if that’s where you want to be. Ensuite bathroom was clean enough. Sink is a bit tiny so awkward to fill jug up for hot drink but manageable enough. Was able to get a park outside on street which is free from 8pm to 8am the next day so that was good.
