We had a wonderful Christmas week at Northern Quarters with our extended family, ages 5 months to 89 years old. The host was very helpful and accessible. The surroundings were beautiful —especially loved the brook and woods lighted up at night. Beds were comfortable and the houses were equipped with everything we needed to pull off meals for a crowd. The separate houses were perfect for accommodating late nights and early risers. Loved our walks and cross country skiing through the woods. Mt Snow was 10 minutes away for downhill skiing and Wardsboro grocery was just around the corner with a little bit of everything for last minute things. Fabulous spot for family and our dogs!
Large property with multiple houses. Main house had plenty of room for our group of 14, and the guest house was a bonus area to hang out at night! The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with.
Beautiful property with all the amenities. Plenty of room, even with a very large group. Both buildings are spacious and comfortable, and the outside is just as accommodating. Location is great for off property activities as well, though you might not want to leave.
The owner/management was a pleasure to work with. They always responded within the hour, usually within 20 minutes, and they were very helpful even as our plans fluctuated.
This is certainly a great rental, you'd be hard pressed to find something with which to be disappointed.

Okay but not great
Overall, the stay was okay. The property was nice and spacious for a good size group and both houses were great. However, there were some issues. First, the freezer in the kitchen was filled with mold so it could not be used; the tub upstairs leaked and it took 20 minutes to speak with the property management company who was overly accusatory that one of us broke something or did something incorrectly. If it was not for the broken pipe or plumbing issue everything would have been great, but it was the interaction with the property management company why I would not use this property again.
My husband and I decided to rent out this property for our reception and could not have been more pleased. The property was perfect for our intimate wedding. It was rustic, quiet, and had a ton of fun activities. The entire home was full of character and each room was unique. The two houses on the property were clean and taken care of, just older so do not expect modern and new. I personally love older rustic locations, especially ones that you know have been lived in and loved.
I gave the home 4/5 for cleanliness simply because things were older like the couches and rugs, and the guest house did have a horse like smell to it. I believe this is because it used to be the barn for the horses so this smell still lingers. My guests who were in this house said they noticed it, but it did not bother them that much!
As for communication, since I was trying to plan a reception I had to have more communication with the property owners than usual guests. I think since we initially started the process through VRBO, there was some miscommunication because we had to discuss things that were not VRBO related, like tent rentals, etc. Once we got this figured out, communication ran much more smoothly. Just be up front with them.
We would definitely stay at this property again!
The 2 houses were able to accommodate 21 people and 2 dogs. There was plenty of room and the houses were clean. House included linens and a few towels in each bedroom. The grounds are beautiful and it was nice to walk around and take in the scenery. We came here to ski at mt snow and was about 13 minutes to the mountain. The weather was real cold in the low single digits and they got hit with a foot of snow a few days earlier. We had 5 vehicles and Parking was a little tight. This was probably due to the amount of snow. With temps in the single digits or below, there were a few bedrooms that didn’t get much heat in the main house and required portable heaters when sleeping. The converted carriage house has an interesting setup. There are a few beds next to a home gym and cornhole set so if you have trouble sleeping, you can bang out a few sets on the bench press and practice throwing the bags around. If you are staying here when it’s cold, there are certain sections that lack insulation and require a portable heater at night when sleeping. One of the most interesting features of the carriage house is your ability to use the bathroom while having anyone in the kitchen watch. Apparently a lock on the door is optional and the door likes to stay open. If that’s your thing…great, but if you like your privacy you need to find a way to prop the door closed. After skiing, the sauna is a perfect way to unwind. Don’t worry about the temperature, we had it on 80 and becau
I took my nursery school staff to Northern Quarters for a weekend staff retreat. We had sooo much fun!! I inquired about a chef for our first night dinner and Sofi was recommended to us. She cooked an absolutely delicious meal. Everything was fantastic and she accommodated all of our many dietary restrictions. We also hired Sofi, who is actually a nutritional coach and personal trainer, to provide us with an exercise class the next morning. The class was adaptable to everyone's personal fitness levels and was tons of fun!
We utilized both the main and guest houses. Both were full of charm and very unique. There were enough beds for all 11 of us and then some. The living room was very spacious and comfy to accommodate our group. Even with a very rainy weekend, we were able to utilize a number of the great amenities the house provided. We used the hot tub and the sauna despite the rain but were unable to use the pool (closed for the season) or the fire pit due to the weather. Inside there was a pool table and a game room with a number of video games.
We attempted to use the Big Green Egg to grill however, the charcoal was not protected from the rain and was too wet to start.
Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the house and the surrounding area. Despite the weather, we hiked around the property and the neighborhood and some of the group went to Wilmington for a little shopping. We definitely hope to return to Northern Quarters again!!
This place is enormous with nooks and crannies everywhere to get away, shoot pool, play video games, read, swim, sit in the sauna, barbecue, or wade in the brook below! Some of the rooms are great for a couple, others are better for a bunch of kids who are willing to sleep in a bunk or twin bed.
Nothing was exceptional, I was disappointed with kitchen appliances that were not working, one of the ovens, which we were planning on using, and the freezer part of the refrigerator. The pots and pans were very limited. The towels were very thin and worn out, not what I expected in such a costly rental!
Fantastic property with main house + guest house and hot tub. We had a great time check in and house instructions were simple. Short drive to both Mt. Snow and Stratton. Kids and adults loved the game room and pool table. Kitchen was perfect for big families.
The pictures don't do the property justice! We had a great time during our stay and found the house well stocked with everything we wanted/needed. Great spot to spend some time with a big group of friends.
Truly an amazing property and more special in person than the photos convey. We had plenty of space to spread out with a group of 14. The kitchen is perfect for large group meals and well stocked. The pool and hot tub were a special treat. We had such a great time, highly recommend this spot for an unforgettable trip.
Can’t say enough about this house which was perfect for our group of 16 guys up in Vermont for a golf weekend. House had everything you would need or want to keep everyone happy. Between the pool, the hot tub, the grill, the fire pit and gas fire, the arcade room and all the yard games supplied by the house -we were very entertained. Plenty of space for all 16 of us to sleep comfortably and it was really nice to have the “Northern Quarters” house for the guys that wanted to go to bed on the earlier side, while the rest of the group could stay up later in the main house. We were able to have group dinners together in the massive dining room which were great for recaps of our rounds of golf at Stratton Resort Golf and Mount Snow Golf which were both short rides away. Hopefully we make it back here for a future golf trip!
