"At first, I'll honest, when we arrive by foot from the train station I was worried. The building looked very run down. "The hotel is located on a volcano island and has a public bath. Right above the bath entrance it says in english "natural hot spring". However, when my wife and I tried the bath at opening time there was no water flowing in and the water was stagnant and covered with scum and hair. My wife was equally repulsed by the ladies bath. I have been to possibly 100 public baths in Japan over the years and this was the worst I have ever seen. When I asked the management they said they ship in the water...

"For my dad’s birthday we decided to travel to the northern most part of Hokkaido, the beautiful island of Rebun, and there are no other better option than Hana Rebun, the best hotel in the whole island. The hospitality is truly unbelievable, the staff has a warmth that is unparalleled. A handmade souvenir for my dad and complimentary champagne made my dad feel super special, and the food, the onsen hot spring, the sea view room, all perfect! I really wish I can personally thank everyone!"

Very good hotel
"The hotel is very near JR Wakkanai Station so this makes it very convenient to go Cape Soya and Cape Noshappu and eating places. The best thing about this hotel is the seafood bowl breakfast and the onsen with an open air one available. Would stay here again if ever I visit Wakkanai"
