Shady Acres Farm

Welcome to The Farm at Shady Acres! Make yourself at home at this freshly remodeled long time family farm. Shady Acres is located 12 miles from Waco, only 20 minutes from downtown Waco and the Magnolia Silos and 15 minutes from historic West, Texas. Shady Acres offers a spacious 1100 square foot one bedroom home with two queen beds, one bath and a large open concept living/kitchen/dining area. The farm sits on a fenced in 4 acre section of a larger 40 acre farm complete with horses and cows. You can experience amazing sunsets and the tranquility of the country while being just a short distance from the city.

Enjoy all the amenities of "city living" with an extremely well-stocked kitchen with, oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator, Keurig and dishwasher. When not enjoying a meal at one of many local restaurants feel free to make yourself at home and cook up your favorite meal. Enjoy your meal either inside or at the outdoor dining area on the screened in porch. You can wrap up your evening by enjoying a cozy fire in the fire pit.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the laundry room with detergent provided.

The Farm at Shady Acres is perfect for all Baylor sporting events and activities, fans of Fixer Upper, workshops at Homestead Heritage, Westfest and any and all Waco events.

When not out enjoying all that Waco and Central Texas have to offer, settle in with HDTV with the Dish Network, play a board game, cards or dominoes. Or, just sit back and relax and enjoy all that country living has to offer.

Standard Rate: $115 per night

NOTE: Administration Fee is McLennan County 2% tax and 7% Waco Hotel/Lodging Tax. VRBO collects state sales tax only.

Great Get-A-Way

We were wanting a chance to relax after the holidays and boy this place fit the need perfectly. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to anything you need. Nice and quiet with plenty of trees. We enjoyed seeing the cows and horses! Over all it was a perfect place to relax and fresh eggs were great for 1 of our breakfasts.

Very comfortable beds! Overall, the inside of the house was clean, warm and welcoming. All of the little things are thought of, lacked for nothing. The outside area could use some clean up, but we plan to stay here at all our future, frequent trips to Gholson!

Farm Vibe

We really enjoyed our stay! The fresh eggs, fresh air, and cozy setting were fantasticl. Our two young grandkids loved seeing the horses and cows and going for a walk back to the pond where we watched lots of turtles and frogs and even saw a water snake. Great outdoor opportunity for a couple of city kids.

Peaceful Family Farm

We chose this property for its green space mostly to rest and recuperate, plus Baylor Homecoming and connecting with old friends. The place was a haven for us and enjoyed the huge trees and seeing the animals. Thank you for keeping it natural and uncontrived. The house was very cozy and had everything we needed and then some. We would definitely stay there again.

Have stayed there multiple times. Close to the city without all the “hustle and bustle”. Serene and peaceful. Like staying at a relatives’ farm house. Pictures don’t do it justice. Don’t hesitate to book this property. It’s 10/10.

Ironman Weekend

Incredibly relaxing! This home was close enough to Waco to be convenient but far enough away to feel connected to nature. My son had a blast playing wandering around the property and it was the perfect place to unwind and relax after my Ironman. The owner was very communicative and friendly. My husband and I were so impressed with the quality and care of the property.

Quiet Respite Retreat

I booked this home to put me and my husband close to Bluebonnet viewing areas. The owners left very good instructions entering property and the home was packed with everything I needed to stay at this rural farm like setting. Beds were comfortable,shower is modern with an abundance of linens offered. The homeowner offered fresh laid eggs from their chickens which we savored for breakfast. It was a great experience and definitely would venture back in the future.

Peaceful getaway

The house is larger than it seemed in the online pics. It is very clean & has guest amenities - books, magazines, bottle of wine, sweet snacks, fully loaded kitchen with a waffle maker. The screen in porch is nice in the evening. Nearest surprise is a basket of eggs from their own chickens. Highly recommend. D

Beautiful Farm Getaway

Relax and enjoy

A perfect place to wind down. Quiet, peaceful, natural setting. Conveniently located just north of Waco, Texas. Attentive hosts who pulled out all the stops to help us have a wonderful time. We were able to do some serious bird watching, hike around the farm and breathe clean air for a week.
