Beautiful and well kept home but location is sketchy
Unfortunately the area was very sketchy, and we felt unsafe. It's unfortunately because the home was very cute, and well kept. We forefeited our money and left .
We loved our stay here! It is a beautiful older home, but very well taken care of and clean. The location is centrally located and within a few minutes to everything downtown. Joyce was a great host. I would highly recommend!
It was everything and more! The owners left food stocked in fridge and was very friendly. They went way beyond to make us feel welcomed. Bed was very comfortable. It was quite and cozy.
Joyce's place had everything we needed and more. Great kitchen, nice bedroom with a very comfortable bed. It is in a great location not far from the Courthouse. Joyce was very helpful with anything we needed. We had our lil 14 year old pup with us and she loved it too. We would definitely stay there again.
Delightful 1890 Creole-style shotgun cottage. Owner offers her guests Southern hospitality at its finest and welcomed us with a stocked refrigerator, plenty of clean towels and a comfortable bed. WiFi reliable and TV state of the art. Within easy walking distance of historical homes, structures, and parks. Old County Courthouse a block and a half away. would definitely choose to stay again. Quiet neighborhood. A home away from home.
This adorable and well stocked and supplied unit was close to everything we wanted to do and see in Vicksburg. Neighbors passing on the street spoke to us in such a friendly way.
We loved the location of the cottage. So close and convenient to all the happenings in Downtown Vicksburg. We loved lunch at The Biscuit Company, enjoyed several of the Museums, the Bookstore, the Historical Park, and so much more. The Cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable. Thank you to the owner for the Orange Juice and Muffins and also for the basket of Easter Candies, Yum! We highly recommend this rental.
Town with Beautiful Homes and Grand History Struggling from the Pandemic
The home was exactly what we were loooking for, a nice place near downtown and away from the interstate. It was comfortably furnished and had a historic air. The hosts left OJ and pastries in the fridge. It had all the ameniries that we needed. The shower was amazing with awesome water pressure. My only knock on the otherwise good housekeeping was mildew on the bath ceiling. The property was Located next to Anchuca the surrounding neighborhood was filled with beautiful homes but just on the edge of being in a sketchy area. There was heavy foot traffic through the neighborhood and at 10 AM, I walked up to a scantily dressed woman peering into our car window. It made me very uncomfortable about my surroundings. Vicksburg is a beautiful historic area that has been hit hard by the pandemic. It has lots of empty buildings downtown including a vacant casino or two. Being right on the river, there is amazing history to the area. They are selling lofts downtown. There were two rooftop bars with one being open only seasonally for event rental. The Cottonwood Public House is home to Key City Brewing which offers excellent beers and food. Also downtown is the H.C. Porter Gallery which is owned by H.C. Porter, a renowned local artist with immense talent. Hope this town is fully able to recover. There is alot of potential here. We have no regrets about our visit.
Property is very nice and comfortable. Conveniently located to sights and dining. Only downside was the neighborhood, every night car alarm went off and cars driving by with loud music kept our light sleeper up. Overall a very nice apartment.
Love this place. I have rebooked this cottage already and both visits have been relaxing for a single, female, road warrior traveling cross country. Better than any chain hotel. Thank you so much for an awesome option to my traveling.
The little cottage is ideally located to Vicksburg National Battlefield and downtown Vicksburg. Very appreciative of the snacks and breakfast foods provided by the host, which made it feel like home.
Was everything I expected and more. I would definitely stay here again. Host was very accommodating and made sure we had all we needed. Definitely recommend as a place to stay. Convenient location.
The house was nice and clean. I would definitely stay again and refer to others. The snacks and other items made available were thoughtful and useful. Stocked with all the things needed in a home away from home.
As always, the stay was quiet and felt like we were in our on little word. Our host is always accommodating and gracious. We will definitely be coming back!
We stayed in Joyce's lovely cottage during a quick trip to Vicksburg for a funeral in a neighboring town. Joyce was very responsive, and she provided great information about the area. The house was one of the cleanest rentals we have ever used, and we really appreciated the coffee, muffins and snacks. The shower had impressive pressure and fast hot water. The bed is very soft.
