The Gîte de La Boussole is in the heart of a village on the banks of the Loire, ideally located on the wine route and at the crossroads of the castles of Chaumont-sur-Loire, Amboise and Blois.
In an old barn completely restored, Nathalie and Tanguy wanted to create an original and warm place for your stay in a gite or guest room.
A pleasant base for all your cultural and sporting leisure activities.
Total area 120m2, outdoor courtyard. Ground floor living room with fully equipped kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, laundry room (washing machine), one bedroom with private bathroom.
Upstairs: two bedrooms with private bathroom.
Rates include: towels, linens, bed made on arrival, cleaning, electricity, heating.

Ideal location for seeing the Loire Valley

Lovely property; the photos don't do the outside seating area justice. Perfectly placed for visiting chateaux and vineyards. Lots of information for local area provided by Nathalie. The restaurant in the village, La Croix Blanche, well worth a visit. Excellent food and lovely eating in the garden.

Wonderful stay in Veuves, close to Amboise!

Nathalie's place is wonderful, in a small village a 15-min drive from Amboise. Very spacious and beautifully renovated, the accommodation is even better than the pictures! Nathalie was very helpful in offering recommendations and was responsive to our needs; would highly recommend as a base for a family or group of friends exploring the Loire Valley. Plus, the restaurant at the end of the road (La Croix Blanche) is marvellous.

Charming and Comfortable, But a Bit Isolated

Beautiful gite, centrally located for excursions throughout the Loire Valley. Don't miss Chateau Chaumont, especially the gardens, and Leonardo da Vinci's final home in Amboise. The gite is incredibly clean with a well-stocked kitchen. Unfortunately, the village has no cafe, boulangeries, or tabac, so you really need a car or to be a bicyclist! Nathalie is wonderful, very communicative and eager for us to have a good time - helpful that she speaks English! À lot of tourist info available, pamphlets, etc. Very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable furniture, great showers! Wonderful restaurants in Boise and Amboise.

Excellent séjour

Schitterend verblijf in de Loire streek !

Veel mooier dan op de foto's.... Perfecte locatie. Heel vriendelijke gastvrouw! Zeer pittoresk, mooie kamers met badkamer, buitenkoer voorzien van de nodige faciliteiten en zeer aangenaam vertoeven, pluspunt : parkeerplaats voor de auto ! Aanrader !

Great base for exploring The Loire

The gite was handy for everything. Near to Chaumont, Amboise, Bloise. Plenty of good restaurants nearby and a supermarket for food and fuel. The house was lovely with everything we needed. Nathalie was very friendly and helpful.

Séjour agréable dans un bel endroit

Le gîte est aménagé avec goût et il est très bien équipé. La petite cour fermée permet de profiter de l'extérieur au calme. L'emplacement est idéal pour visiter les nombreux châteaux de la Loire qui sont très proches pour la plupart Blois, Amboise, Chenonceaux, Villandry... Nous regrettons de n'être resté qu'une semaine sur place, il y avait tant à voir que nous aurions aimé prolonger ce séjour. Nous reviendrons très certainement.

Wonderful Central Location in the Loire Valley

We have visited 4 regions in France and we all agree our favorite stay was here. Nathalie was delightful and even brought along a friend to interpret for us. Nathalie had great recommendations for food and sites to visit. The house is spacious and the patio is a wonderful place to have cheese, wine or dinner.

Just Like Home

Nathalie is the best hostess. She introduced us to La Boussole like a person would introduce a best friend. The furnishings and beds were comfortable. We cooked and enjoyed several breakfasts and dinners. The interior is spectacular. We would not hesitate to stay at La Boussole again.

Accueil Très chaleureux de Nathalie. Son gîte nous a bien plu : situation idéale pour rayonner dans la région , sa décoration, son confort avec ses 3 chambres et leur salle d’eau. Loire reunion

We met dear American friends for the first time since the pandemic to visit chateaux and gardens, to walk along the Loire, to explore Tours and Blois and to cook together and explore local restaurants. The house was a perfect base for all these activities and we loved sitting in the sunny courtyard and around the dining table, chatting into the evening. Nathalie gave us a great tip for a walk and was super helpful with all queries. We highly recommend this lovely gite.

A charming , stylish and comfortable Gite.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this very well-appointed Gite. Its location for sight-seeing is excellent and it was a warm and welcoming place to return to. The decor is stylish and full of character; the furnishings are very comfortable and having a shower in each bedroom was a bonus. We were impressed by the fantastic spiral staircase and, if someone in your party were to be unable to manage them, there is a great bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Nathalie was extremely helpful and lovely to deal with.

Charming Gite

A 10 from start to finish! Nathalie is charming and so very helpful. It is obvious that no expense was spared in the remodel of this vacation rental. Great patio area to sit out and relax in. We were a group of six active seniors and had no issues with the stairs. Would rent again!

Un très joli gîte au bord de la Loire

Nous avons passé de très bons moments au Gîte de la Boussole ! Nathalie était très sympathique et c’était facile de communiquer avec elle avant notre arrivée. Nathalie nous a très bien accueilli au gîte et nous a donné plusieurs recommendations pour que nous puissions profiter de notre visite. Nous avons fait la balade crépusculaire sur la Loire, qui part de Chaumont sur Loire, pour l’anniversaire de mon mari, c’était magnifique ! Le gîte était parfait et bien situé pour visiter les nombreux châteaux que la région offre ou d’autres villes comme Blois et Amboise. Merci beaucoup Nathalie pour un très agréable séjour et nous espérons revenir à nouveau !

Great location - central to all the Loire Valley has to offer

Everything you need to enjoy your stay. Comfortable beds and an easy, commute to Chateau’s and towns to explore. Highly recommend you book a reservation at the La Croix Blanche - walking distance and beautiful garden seating with great food. Second floor is not suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues. However, is perfectly suited for couples or families with older kids. Private showers for every bedroom and a shared toilet upstairs and one downstairs makes it easy to get ready to explore. Hostess is welcoming and will assist you making plans for the area. We will be back!

Relaxing time on the Loire River

We enjoyed 5 marvelous days in the home of Nathalie Breche, with easy access to any and all of the wonderful castles within the Loire Valley, one of which can be seen across the River, Chateau Chaumont, a true representative of the luxury enjoyed by the few in Frances' history. Nathalies home does have a circular staircase for a second couple to enjoy their own space with full bathroom facilities on the second floor. No winding your way down to the loo in the dark!! The kitchen is well appointed and the patio is clean and private. Thank you Nathalie! We ALL enjoyed our time in your lovely home
